[Pharo-project] BitLy services in-image
by DeNigris Sean Dec. 12, 2010

Dec. 12, 2010

I started a little package to wrap the bit.ly URL shortening API in Smalltalk. It's simple enough to have no dependencies, and works in Pharo and Squeak trunk. You need a free bit.ly account to use the API. See BitLyInfo and BitLy class comments, and the specs for more info. bitLy := BitLy forUser: 'myUsername' withApiKey: 'myApiKey'. bitLy shorten: 'http://google.com'. "Returns Url: http://bit.ly/h1Bpyx" Enjoy. Sean

[Pharo-project] the struggling newbie about the OB Package Browser comment issue
by Chip Nowacek Dec. 11, 2010

Dec. 11, 2010

Thanks for your help. Because of it, I've found a couple ways around the issue. Far more important is knowing there are folks out there.I hope to be useful to the community as I gain experience. Pharo is cool - and I am grateful Squeak has strong shoulders upon which Pharo can stand. Thanks again. PS I didn't respond directly to your responses because I signed up for the digest form of the list. Now that I want to change it from that subscription type, I can't seem to get into the list to modify my account *Error: **Authentication failed.*which is strange because I just created the account yesterday and know the password. Well, on the assumption I'm that stupid, I asked the list to send me my password. I haven't received it after asking twice. Who should I contact or should I just create another account?

Dec. 11, 2010

12276 ----- - Issue 1213: Unable to type some czech characters. Thanks George Herolyant - Issue 3390: SimpleMorphic in core. Thanks ESUG. I started to fix it to make sure that we can load it with MC and added a class for general comments. More to come.... we should close all these 1.2 bug entries and start having fun with 1.3 unstable :)
