Marcus, How are we building 1.2 dev? Is it using always the last version of the ConfigurationOfPharo? If not, how can we do it? :) Once it's done, maybe we can do a #loadLast in the class side of the config like this: >>loadLastStable (self project version: 'xxx') load And forget about updating the build script for each version... Thank you all for the pointers. Luckily the IDE company has promised to write a plugin for Smalltalk this Janurary. For me, the initial plugin may not be what Smalltalkers like but over time I'm going to enhance it to give the same functionality as the current Code Browser. My goal is to bring more people to Smalltalk and if that means a few changes to what an 'old school' smalltalkers expect, then I am ok with that. Rgs, James.

Hi! I wanted to announce some advances in my work on Keymapping. What I did so far: - some refactors and changes. I did them While I learnt the code and how it worked. There's much cleaning left. - I added some comments to classes - added and changed tests - added a Pragma mecanism to collect the keymappings, like this: SomeClass class>>declareKeymappingOn: aBuilder <keymap> aBuilder addKeymap: [ :builder | builder on: '<m-j>' do: [ :m | UIManager default inform: 'yes!' ] ] on: #Test; attach: #Test to: SystemWindow. Next things I want to do on it: - more cleaning - a little more documentation - replace the string way of declaring the shortcuts (the '<m-j>') - add Application specific shortcuts (today shortcuts are attached to morphs, and it would be good to get them declared in models of those morphs too) - build an usable UI (today's UI doesn't reflect the changes I did. BTW, it is very odd, and I didn't found a way to use it well). Well, I just wanted to share it :P. I believe that in the weekend I'll build a new release ;). Cheers! Guille

Hello everyone. A friend of mine suggested me to use Pharo because I ask him for informations on Emacs in order to do some MultiMedia stuff. Now, is Pharo ok to do this? (list follows) Raster graphics (processing, synthesis, input/capturing, output/saving), vector graphics (same), 3D graphics (modeling, rigging, rendering, raytracing, opening and saving 3D files), sound processing (sound synthesis, algoritmic music composition, post processing), video editing (opening, saving, cutting/rotating/processing video files), text processing (HTML output, regex/find and replace/whateverI would do with Word + Excel), Optical character recognition, text to speech, speech recognition, ASCII Art. Thanks in advance for any answer.

Hi Igor. I really appreciate your work on this field. I wonder if you or someone could provide (in a future) the following: I would like to be able to download a PharoVM OneClick (or put the name you want), which is a zip with the following: 1) All the platform code of a version XXX. 2) All the src folder with the code generated by ConfigurationOfVMMaker version YYY. 3) Inside the platform folder, for mac, there is always a xcode project. This project file, should be configured so that it takes the sources from the src folder. 4) An squeak/pharo image with VMMaker and plugins loaded. And this has to be loaded by ConfigurationOfVMMaker version YYY 5) The previous image can also have a workspace with the Do-it that was used to generate the src folder. And, this should be pointing to the path ../src And of course, version YYY should work with XXX. If you can provide this, not necessary automaticallly generated all the time, but every some time, this would be awesome.
