Pharo 1.2. is broken on Hudson. The ConfigurationOfPharo is not loadable on a core image due to changes on OmniBrowser. Reason: ======= ConfigurationOfOmniBrowser-GuillermoPolito.102.mcz in http://www.squeaksource.com/MetacelloRepository references "OB-Shout-JohanBrichau.13" in spec for: #pharo in its version 1.2.4 But OB-Shout-JohanBrichau.13 is not in http://www.squeaksource.com/PharoOB Should we use "OB-Shout-GuillermoPolito.13.mcz" instead? Hi, For a project of REST services with Pharo and Seaside, I need to send requests to an LDAP server. I found a project named LDAPlayer on squeaksource. Now, I can create a connection and do a request to the LDAP server. But... my problem is to read an attribute in the result. In the LDAPSearchResultEntry object, the method to get a value is : attrAt: aKey | selected | selected := attrs at: (aKey asByteArray) ifAbsent: [ ^ nil ]. ^ selected first asString. The problem seems to be on the third line with the use of the asByteArray method. Why used this method ? For my tests, I remplaced it with : selected := attrs at: aKey ifAbsent: [ ^ nil ]. And now, it's ok but I don't know if my modification could introduce others problems. What do you think about that ? Someone has used LDAPlayer with Pharo ? Best regards Olivier ;-) www.auverlot.fr

Is there a working version of XMLRPC server? After installing via "ConfigurationOfXMLRPC project latestVersion load: 'All'." the server tests seem to hang indefinitely on both Pharo 1.1.1 and Squeak 4.1. Thanks. I started referencing Smalltalk idioms at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_programming_languages_(string_fu… I could have focused on ANSI but have chosen Squeak/Pharo. Feel free to correct me and to complete me. This is a very enlighting exercize, especially for pointing when API turns to be not that bright. During my perigrination, I notably noticed this: #compare: returns 1, 2, or 3 : this is both very object oriented, very intuitive and very standard and the rest of the world is stupid, unless... #findLastOccurrenceOfString:startingAt: in its current form is stupid to my taste, because 1) implementation is inefficient 2) the startingAt: only skip the beginning of the string which seems odd for a rfind operation I would rather expect this kind of usage: last := aString findLastOccurrenceOfString: 'to' startingAt: aString size. lastButOne := aString findLastOccurrenceOfString: 'to' startingAt: last - 1. The CamelCase is sometimes abusive like #includesSubString: There is no format. I know, purists will tell me that encoding a format in a cryptic string is not in the Smalltalk spirit, but please then tell me how to specify a formatting efficiently and also remove cryptic regex encoding (a pity, it's not in trunk). I let a few holes (split/join etc...) Cheers

Problem is that image cannot be saved at all on that Windoze.
