[Pharo-project] Context Sensitive Browsing
by Camillo Bruni Feb. 22, 2011

Feb. 22, 2011

I just implemented some hacky solution to have more intelligent CMD-b browsing. For instance in the following example: Exception handles: having the cursor somewhere on the handles: selector and pressing CMD-b should directly jump to the implementation of handles: on the Exception class. Now the way I do it so far is rather brain dead. I select the word under the cursor and check if the preceding word is either a keyword or a constant using pattern matching. Now of course this is neither flexible nor nice to code. The solution would be to use the AST and map directly from the sources to the AST. Is there a way to get from the sources / compiled method to the AST? m(^_-)m camillo

[Pharo-project] Issue 3708 in pharo: Selection text color enh
by pharo＠googlecode.com Feb. 22, 2011

Feb. 22, 2011

Status: FixProposed Owner: aplan...@gmail.com Labels: Milestone-1.3 New issue 3708 by aplan...@gmail.com: Selection text color enh http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3708 Because selection text is currently black, it isn't possible to use more constrasted colors for text, list and tree selection. So, the goal here is to be able to setup a style with constrasting colors (High constrasts style accessible from the setting browser in the futur, useful for demo mode or for people who need big letters and high constrated colors). This is the first step. See screenshot. To do so, MorphTreeMorph has been reviewed together with the new MessageListBrowser and the new Finder tools (less classes and integration with MorphTreeMorph improved, MorphTreeMorph cleaned btw).

SqueakSource is down again. I'm tired of this situation, there is any alternative "free" repository? Cheers, -- Hernán Morales Information Technology Manager, Institute of Veterinary Genetics. [Pharo-project] SqueakSource down... again
by Torsten Bergmann Feb. 22, 2011

>I think that Monticello as it is today is pretty good. I remember working in >Smalltalk without something like Monticello and it was a PITA. +1 >My first experiences with Envy I used Envy, Monticello, Store, DVS, Changesets, ST/MT XML Project files with VisualSourceSafe, Smallscript scripts in Subversion and others in the past (when in Smalltalk land). If I could choose among them I would vote for Monticello! >Anyway, putting it on a newer Linux based server (shouldn't have to cost >that much) and adding some of the standard tools to monitor the process and >reboot it if necessary will probably already help a lot Squeaksource could be improved (google indexing, ...), no doubt about it. But we should'nt confuse a "squeaksource.com" (server problem) with a squeaksource (the program) problem. Other Squeaksource instances like http://source.squeak.org run stable AFAIK. So the real question is: is anyone able to provide a backuped server that is reachable from the web and that could be used for a fresh setup of squeaksource (the program)? [Pharo-project] COG and locale
by Hilaire Fernandes Feb. 22, 2011

Feb. 22, 2011

Hello, I have been experimenting COG VM to use it with Dr.Geo for the XO OLPC laptop. It really improves a lot the user experience and the interactive geometric sketch get more snappy. However I have noted the locale does not seem to work. When I run the same image with a COG VM executing this statement returns: Locale current a Locale(sr-) With a stock VM (where locale is working): Locale current a Locale(fr-FR) Are there any known issues with Locale with COG? [Pharo-project] Strange (Re)Drawing in Image, anyone any idea ?
by Sven Van Caekenberghe Feb. 22, 2011

Feb. 22, 2011

Hi, I seem to have messed up my image (based on the CI built Seaside 3 Pharo 1.2 image), the result is strange (re)draw patterns, drawing outside windows, strange text rendering, artifacts, etc. This is an example screenshort: I tried several things, but the problem remains, I am inclined to think it is image related. Has anyone every seen something similar ? Any idea how I could try to fix it ? TIA, Sven
