[Pharo-project] Pharo 1.2 and test failures
by Norbert Hartl March 6, 2011

March 6, 2011

Today I had a look at the hudson server. For pharo 1.2 dev there was only one bug left. So I took a look and fixed it http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3784 Two hours later there was a new build in hudson and then there were three bugs (one of these is the fixed one which hasn't been integrated). How can this happen? Norbert

[Pharo-project] Add to website Re: [Pharo-users] Pharo-project weekly summary #4
by Mariano Martinez Peck March 6, 2011

March 6, 2011

Hi. These summaries are awesome. Can we link to them somehow from pharo web site? Maybe we can have two sections under news: one with what is now (the blog) and another one with this summaries (just a text explaining what it is and a link to the original website) cheers mariano On Sun, Mar 6, 2011 at 10:02 AM, Stéphane Ducasse <stephane.ducasse(a)inria.fr > wrote: > Yes! > > On Mar 5, 2011, at 10:16 PM, Tudor Girba wrote: > > > Thanks :) > > > > Doru > > > > > > On 5 Mar 2011, at 22:06, Francois Stephany wrote: > > > >> Hi guys, > >> > >> The summary for this week is out. So I think the problem is that we are not loading a *fixed* set of versions, but a changed one. e.g. someone commits a new version of a project --> it's loaded in 1.2 We need to change that. Especially considering that we want to build 1.3, too. (we never build a 1.3 Full image...). And there is 1.1, too, where the loaded packages seem to change depending on the moon, or something... All in all, maybe we should re-think if how we do the full image is sustainable? Marcus -- Marcus Denker -- http://www.marcusdenker.de INRIA Lille -- Nord Europe. Team RMoD.

Hi! After I've tried Hazel, I was wondering what is the status of Coral. I would love to move away from Bash. I am just wondering. Cheers, Alexandre -- _,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;: Alexandre Bergel http://www.bergel.eu ^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;.

[Pharo-project] Monticello diff between 2 version
by Miguel Cobá March 5, 2011

March 5, 2011

Maybe I am not seeing it but: How do you see the changes between 2 version in a given repository in Monticello? And then, how do you export it to a simple fileout or record them in a change set. More specifically how can I extract the changes introduced by Collections-cmm.405.mcz Collections-cmm.404.mcz in source.squeak.org/trunk Thanks -- Miguel Cobá http://twitter.com/MiguelCobaMtz http://miguel.leugim.com.mx

[Pharo-project] [Hudson] News
by Marcus Denker March 5, 2011

March 5, 2011

Hi, Slow but steady progress on the hudson infrastructure... 1) We have a Mac slave! Alive and kicking, but not doing anything other then an hourly ping https://pharo-ic.lille.inria.fr/hudson/job/Check%20Builder%20Mac/ 2) Cog Unix (both JIT and Stack VM) build. Fully automatic from repository to binary using Pharo 1.3 as the host system. https://pharo-ic.lille.inria.fr/hudson/job/Cog%20Unix%201.3/ https://pharo-ic.lille.inria.fr/hudson/job/Stack%20VM%20Unix/ lots to do... mac build, windows build. Build debug version, build latest stable *and* latest development, run tests... use the generated VM as the base VM for all 1.3 builds, use generated VM for 1.3 One-Click... and so on. 3) There is a build project for Project Sista... Image side for now, work in progress. https://pharo-ic.lille.inria.fr/hudson/job/Sista/ (broken right now) (TODO: We need to build cog-sista) Marcus -- Marcus Denker -- http://www.marcusdenker.de INRIA Lille -- Nord Europe. This is why alain rewrote from scratch the undo. > Actually, the problem was that it is BSD... which is not the faullt of Sophie, this was what was thought as being good at that point in time. Later people understood that MIT is even better... Wikepedia says: The MIT License is similar to the 3-clause "modified" BSD license, except that the BSD license contains a notice prohibiting the use of the name of the copyright holder in promotion. This is sometimes present in versions of the MIT License, as noted above. The original BSD license also includes a clause requiring all advertising of the software to display a notice crediting its authors. This "advertising clause" (since disavowed by UC Berkeley[7]) is present in the modified MIT License used by XFree86. The MIT License states more explicitly the rights given to the end-user, including the right to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell the software. For the Undo it was nor really worth to think about what it means to add BSD (and which of the BSD?) licensed code to an MIT licensed system...
