[Pharo-project] Bigger cursor
by Torsten Bergmann March 9, 2011

March 9, 2011

Works for me on Windows with Pharo 1.2/1.3 and Standard as well as Cog VM. Haven tried on Linux or other platforms. Since it's code from OLPC I guess it should work also on non-windows platforms - but maybe the VM code was not integrated. You may ask on vm-dev list. [Pharo-project] PharoOneClick .lnk file
by Torsten Bergmann March 9, 2011

March 9, 2011

>I like the one-click too, but Torsten is correct that many Windows users >will want an installer. Yes, Windows users are different ;) >If nothing else, having one proves that it can be done We already have one since a long time (Pharo 1.0/Pharo 1.1). See http://www.pharo-project.org/pharo-download then scroll down to "Windows Installer 1.1-11411-release10.07.25 (Pharo 1.1 release)" It's based on NSIS and I will update it to Pharo 1.2 as soon as 1.2 is ready. Based on my script the Squeak distro now also provides a windows installer. [Pharo-project] Issue 3794 in pharo: FinderUI gets out of sync when more than one Finder open
by pharo＠googlecode.com March 9, 2011

March 9, 2011

Status: New Owner: ---- New issue 3794 by DougEdmu...@gmail.com: FinderUI gets out of sync when more than one Finder open http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3794 Finder v.34 If a Finder window is open, it adds new typed-in entries to the top of the drop-down list. If a second Finder window is opened, the new entries are added to the top of the list. If you go back to the first Finder window, it will still show the entries as used by the first Finder window, but the index is now out of sync. If you select from the drop-down list from the first Finder window, Finder will look for the wrong item (presumably whatever is indexed at that position in the list). I think the problem has to do with using a class variable (SearchedTextList) for the drop down list.

[Pharo-project] Cloud IDE
by Geert Claes March 8, 2011

March 8, 2011

I just read that VMWare (Gemstone's parent) has just acquired Wavemaker (a company that I have been following since they were called ActiveGrid) who make a cloud IDE based on java/springsource (another VMWare acquisition). I actually thought that Gemstone was in a great position to create a cloud IDE/PaaS ... Smalltalk based of course :) http://www.keeneview.com/2011/03/wavemaker-springs-to-vmware.html -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Cloud-IDE-tp3341921p3341921.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
