We actually have www.seasidehosting.st which can only be used for non-commercial applications. I am Romain Verduci, a french student in Information System (Master degree) who likes smalltalk since I have discovered it last year through Pharo. Today, I participate to weekly coding-dojos with other smalltalk fans (http://cara74.seasidehosting.st/) I am lucky to participate to ESUG SummerTalk this year with Laurent Laffont as mentor to develop SmallHarbour project. With the support of ESUG and under the ESUG SummerTalk 2011, we want to provide: - a simple platform to host commercial smalltalk web applications. - an easy way for everyone (and enterprise) to deploy their own hosting platform. - for the non-smalltalkers, provide ready Pier images to deploy basic blogs, event presentations and more. SmallHarbour has started from the actual Seaside Hosting code base. Our first objective is to port it to Pharo / Cog / Seaside 3 and document. For more informations about the project, you can follow us on www.smallharbour.org. If you have any needs or ideas in order to improve our project vision, we will be happy to collect them. Consider following: case a) | a b | a := thisContext. [ b := thisContext ] value. a == b case b) | a b | a := thisContext. true ifTrue [ b := thisContext ]. a == b what you think, should those two cases evaluate to same value? not really matter if true or false (i prefer false, or course ;), but what matters is t hat if case a) evaluating to true, then case b) should also evaluate to true and if a) is false, then b) should be false as well. [Pharo-project] Convention to build cmd-line interfaces with Pharo?

Hi: Is there any convention/standard approach to build nice cmd-line interfaces with Pharo? The first road block I encountered is the assumption that the first argument to the image on the command line is a document/script. Which fires an exception if it is not actually a loadable document. I did not see any way to disable that other than to deinstall Autostart (Autostart>>deinstall). That is fine for me, but might have unintended consequences. The ProjectLauncher>>startUpAfterLogin is the actual place where that assumption is hard coded. And, well, I don't know what the consequences are of disabling Autostart and as a consequence ProjectLauncher. So, are there other ways to get to a clean command-line interface? What I want eventually is the following: $ squeak-vm.sh Pharo-1.2.image --help SMark Benchmark Framework, version: SMark-StefanMarr.12 Usage: <vm+image> SMarkHarness [runner] [reporter] <suiteOrBenchmark> [iterations [processes [problemSize]]] Arguments: runner optional, a SMarkRunner class that executes the benchmarks reporter optional, a SMarkReporter class that processes and displays the results suiteOrBenchmark required, either a SMarkSuite with benchmarks, or a benchmark denoted by Suite.benchName iterations optional, number of times the benchmarks are repeated processes optional, number of processes/threads used by the benchmarks problemSize optional, depending on benchmark for instance number of inner iterations or size of used data set Bye the way, Squeak 4.1 exhibits the same behavior, but I did not notice anything alike in our 3.9 image, there is works just fine. Hi: I saw in your image that Zinc is already loaded. It will be at this way in the images from now? I'm asking because I must decide what path take with XMLRPC. If Zinc will be the default to use, I will adapt xmlrpc to work with Zn. I know that xmlrpc is not heavily used but still I think is cool having the tools in the image to expose an easy and straightforward API. I wait comments. Cheers.
