[Pharo-project] Complete MethodContext stack for testing
by Mariano Martinez Peck May 23, 2011

May 23, 2011

Hi guys. We need to do some test to serialize a MethodContext to a file, materialize it, and then compare it to the original. One of the problems we face is that some values in the MethodContext are changed so it is difficult to test. So...what we would like is to get a "bottom" MethodContext that we can ask #sender, and to that one #sender, and like that....and the whole stack should cannot be changed. Another problem is that I cannot do a #deepCopy on a MethodContext because #basicNew: throws errror. Is this possible? Thanks in advance, -- Mariano http://marianopeck.wordpress.com

But we don't want to discuss about them now if we don't have the manpower to *do* anything. Let's finish the stuff already started... we really can't open yet another things now. (At least I can't. I can't even read a discussion. I am full) Marcus -- Marcus Denker -- http://www.marcusdenker.de INRIA Lille -- Nord Europe. Team RMoD.

[Pharo-project] What happens with named primitives in CM ?
by Mariano Martinez Peck May 23, 2011

May 23, 2011

Hi folks. I was inspecting for example the CM of Integer >> #bitAnd: and the first literal is an array like this: #(#LargeIntegers #primDigitBitAnd 0 17) I understand the first and the second elements, but I don't the third and the fourth. What are they? (0 and 17) because then even seem to change their value. I am asking because I am serializing CompiledMethod and then at materialization time I am putting just two zeros for the moment. But I am not sure what they mean. [Pharo-project] problem with Dictionary and KeyNowFound
by Mariano Martinez Peck May 22, 2011

May 22, 2011

So...it seems Pharo1.3 change Dictionary to throw KeyNotFound instead of Error. Now, my image freezes with a loop. I would appreciate some help. I couldn't really analyzed the problem. Fileine both FLPerson.st and ATest and run the test testDictionaryRehash. In such test, a the end there is a self shouldnt: [aDictionary at: newPerson1] raise: KeyNotFound. which raises the debugger pre-popup. if I try to click on the popup... -> loop/freeze. You can interrupt it and see more or less what is happening. Camillo, can you take a look? Thanks -- Mariano http://marianopeck.wordpress.com

[Pharo-project] Any alternative to HDTestReport?
by Stefan Marr May 22, 2011

May 22, 2011

Hi: Is there any alternative available to HDTestReport to be able to run headless tests, or actually run the SUnit tests in a non-morphic image? I found the HDTestReport via Lukas github repo, I think, and in the Pharo Core regression testing image. Is any of them ever going to be part of the standard SUnit? (a template: request a CI server --> a CI server is set up. Automatically, configured to look into LDAP for account data, for example). This is why it took a while to move to Jenkins from Hudson. Remember, INRIA is not just RMod. To put into that the possibility of changing the look means to provide a *generic* way that everyone can modify the look. Whithout manual intervention. This is *work* and this is *not important*. This combination makes it very unlikely to happen anytime soon. And really: Is this important enough to even discuss it?
