[Pharo-project] Setting File>>serverMode
by Marcus Denker May 29, 2011

May 29, 2011

Hello, There is a setting Files serverMode 1) we now have two server mode settings, doing different things. 2) Do we actually *need* this setting? Server mode If enabled, then the contents of stdin, stdout and stderr are encoded/decoded using the system default text converter a) it's true, and we will ship it like that if nobody actively sets it to false. So it will just confuse people. b) why the heck would anyone *not* want system linenedings? Normal people would be the first that don't know how to convert line endings... on a server you do have gnu recode... So I vote for removing that preference. -- Marcus Denker -- http://www.marcusdenker.de INRIA Lille -- Nord Europe. Team RMoD.

Have a look at Morphic. This is one huge pile of Crap... The idea of doing Pharo was never to support Squeak's code base (whch is impossible). Hi, what do you think of adding this in Pharo ? |taskbar tileWindowsBlock| tileWindowsBlock := [ |windows numberOfColumns numberOfRows windowWidth windowHeight| windows := (World submorphs select: [:m| m isSystemWindow and: [m isNotMinimized]]) asOrderedCollection. numberOfColumns := windows size sqrtFloor. numberOfRows := (windows size / numberOfColumns) rounded. windowWidth := World width // numberOfColumns.. windowHeight := World height - taskbar height // numberOfRows. Matrix rows: numberOfRows columns: numberOfColumns tabulate: [:row :column| |window| windows ifNotEmpty: [ window := windows remove: windows first. window bounds: ( ((column - 1 * windowWidth) @ (row - 1 * windowHeight)) extent: (windowWidth) @ windowHeight) ] ] ]. taskbar := (World submorphs detect: [:m| m isTaskbar]). taskbar addMorph: (IconicButton new target: tileWindowsBlock; actionSelector: #value; labelGraphic: taskbar theme smallWindowIcon; color: Color transparent; yourself).
