Try: Gofer new url: 'http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/Versionner'; package: 'ConfigurationOfVersionner'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfVersionner) project development load:#('Core' 'Spec'). When the dialog pops up about loading a package with unsaved changes, if you choose merge and keep the current version for all the removed classes and methods, it bootstraps. If you "Load" instead of Merge, it fails with "MessageNotUnderstood: IdentitySet>>copyAfter:" Sean

[Pharo-project] making Apache serve .mcz files in the proper mode

Well I have run into a strange problem using Linux. I've prepared a directory on my Server to hold .mcz files. So far so good. Now with Pharo 1.3 this files are properly loaded and save. with 1.4 I got errors about readStream that is nil or an bitOr: missing in Character. Someone wrote the .mcz file must be served as zip files. If I'm running file on an .mcz file this is properly recogniced: WebContfakt-FriedrichDominicus.76.mcz: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract but apache seems to serve this files as text. I checked the first few bytes of the .mcz files and found: PK\C\D that is PK\3\4 I modified the magic file for apache to cope with it: 0 string PK\003\004 application/x-zip But still I run into trouble. So does anyone know how to properly configure Apache 2 that this files are properly served? Thanks Friedrich

Now that we have Keymapping, why not, right?! In Pharo 2.0: Gofer new url: 'http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/VimPharo'; package: 'ConfigurationOfVimPharo'; load ConfigurationOfVimPharo project development load. 1. open a Nautilus browser 2. In the code pane, press escape to enter Vim command mode 3. Press the d key twice to delete the current line Two current bugs - Cursor changed globally when toggling command/insert mode. I don't know if/how you can change the cursor for just one morph/editor - Once you enter command mode, that morph will always have the command mode shortcuts Two Keymapping questions (help, guille!!): - how do I remove an individual shortcut or shortcut category from a morph? (so I can toggle the command/insert mode shortcuts) - how can I restore a morph's shortcuts to the defaults? Also, for the time being, I'm using the dumbbell cursor to indicate command mode because it was an easy hack. I'll check SVI to see how they made a block cursor, but if anyone has any pointers, I'm all ears. I'll be adding shortcuts as I need them and contributions are welcome. Also, I installed it for Nautilus arbitrarily. We'll probably be able to have them for all the tools... #bindWith: is the same as using #format but not using "{x}" syntax but "%x" syntax instead. In Pharo you we usualy write: 'foo {1} bar' format: {Date today} which returns 'foo 11 July 2012 bar' I think it was VisualAge that used #bindWith: and % as marker, so if you want to port code from that Smalltalk to Pharo it may be helpful to add support for that. So it does the same - only a little bit different: 'foo %1 bar' bindWith: Date today aString Thats why it is now in http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/PharoGoodies.html Another option is to rewrite code to use #format: Bye T.

Hi, if you often download latest development Pharo versions from Jenkins, you may have a mess in the downloaded files because for all builds the archives and images have the same name. I created a Jenkins job that creates an archive named by the latest update number.
