last time I had insomnia...
by Esteban Lorenzano May 6, 2015

so, I spend some time doing this: Gofer it smalltalkhubUser: 'estebanlm' project: 'IconsForPharo'; package: 'Polymorph-Icons-Idea'; load. ThemeIcons current: IdeaUIThemeIcons new. AbstractNautilusUI resetIconCaches. (you will need to reopen all your windows) The coolness of this icons set is that they work very fine with Dark Theme too :) Pharo3DarkTheme installFullTheme. It is still incomplete, but thatâs mostly because: a) I need to work for real now :) b) I need to catch up with latest icons from GTools guys Enjoy :) Screenshots:

New Cog VMs available
by Eliot Miranda May 6, 2015

May 6, 2015

... at http://www.mirandabanda.org/files/Cog/VM/VM.r3319. CogVM binaries as per VMMaker.oscog-eem.1288/r3319 Spur: Implement remembered table pruning via ref counts. The algorithm selectively tenures objects to reduce the remembered table, instead of merely tenuring everything. Be selective about remembering tenured objects; actually scan their contents before remembering willy-nilly. StackVM: Allow setting preemptionYields in the stack VM. Cogit: Use new register allocation in #== with V3 in order to limit register moves. -- best, Eliot

Class Comment Template Suggestion
by Sean P. DeNigris May 6, 2015

May 6, 2015

The class comment template begins: "For the Class part: State the name of the class with one line description: For example, I'm xxx the root of the hierarchy of visitor objects." Unlike a traditional CRC card, we are already in a live programming environment with good tools! So the class name is duplicated info (the browser already shows this) which will have to be manually changed on a class rename. Also, the specific example provides an implementation detail duplicated by the class hierarchy tree already shown in the browser. I'd like to change it to: "For the Class part: State a one line summary. For example, "I represent a paragraph of text."" Any objections? ----- Cheers, Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Class-Comment-Template-Suggestion-tp4822890.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

How does it work? Is it communicating directly with fogbugz? Finder Source Search Shows Trait Users
by Sean P. DeNigris May 6, 2015

May 6, 2015

While searching for the class comment template, I did a source search in the finder on a text fragment. Three results came back: TClassDescription, where it is implemented, and both of its users - ClassDescription and TraitDescription. Senders and Implementors seems to handle this correctly - that is they just return the trait, not users. Should I create an issue? ----- Cheers, Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Finder-Source-Search-Shows-Trait-Users-tp4824805.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

GTSpotter > code view > class comment
by Ben Coman May 6, 2015

May 6, 2015

Just a passing thought and request. When the code view is open in Spotter and a class is selected, could the class comment be shown as well its definition. Maybe also show the class-side definition(?). Maybe also show the hierarchy tree as a bread-crumb .e.g. A > B > C (???) cheers -ben
