CogVM binaries as per VMMaker.oscog-eem.1427/r3410 General: Implement a machine code perform:[with:]* primitive. Eliminate the duplication of SimpleStackBasedCogit/StackToRegisterMappingCogit>>compileOpenPIC:numArgs: now that we have dead code elimination enabled. Change the type of the event buffer from int[8] to long[8], along with the matching event typedefs in sq.h (fixes 64-bit SPur issues). Add a fence before reading checkSignalRequests and useTideA in doSignalExternalSemaphores. ARM Include the Alien support in the Squeak ARM VMs now that it works to a fair extent in Newspeak. ARM Cogits: Use __aeabit_idivmod to implement machine code div/mod primitives on ARM. 64-bit Spur Fix at least one set of 64-bit issues caused by Slang. In particular the integerObjectOf: code resulted in (objectMemory integerObjectOf: MillisecondClockMask) evaluating to the -1 object, instead of the 16r1FFFFFFF object, which was the cause of the initially nresponsive 64-bit image on the real VM. Newspeak: Compile Newspeak self and super sends as clean sends as well. Slower in monomorphic case but net win for the larger benchmarks, presumably because it avoids I-cache flushes in the polymorphic case. Also means implementing polymorphic caches for clean sends will benefit all non-ordinary sends. DeltaBlue +8.2% Splay +7.6% ParserCombinators +4.7% Richards +0.5% SlotRead (replaced with self send) -17.6% Spill ReceiverResultReg before runtime call to fix pushEnclosingObject on ARM. (ReceiverResultReg is edx/caller-saved on IA32 but r7/callee-saved on ARM.) Fix some primitiveFail[For:] calls in potential mirror primitives that did not return after falure, and could hence continue to do damage after detecting a failure condition. Fix the 64-bit Newspeak builds' plugins.ext Integrate Ryan's code for ARM call-out and callback support in the Alien plugin. Implement the relevant implicitReceiveCacheAt: for the ARM Cogits. ThreadedFFIPlugin: Allow ffiCreateIntegralResultOop:ofAtomicType:in: to be inlined. Reduce the number of tests leading to the common case of an integral return in ffiCalloutTo:SpecOnStack:in: etc. Refactor the remapOop:in: idiom up into InterpreterPlugin and use it in the ThreadedFFIPlugin. Hi Alain, that's actually a good question. The issue is whether the millisecond clock should start from zero or not. Clearly deriving it from the 64-bit microsecond clock is a win. It won't wrap (not for 50,000 years at least). But the current clock starts at 0 when the image starts up. If one were to continue to zero the millisecond clock on image startup won't overflow into large integers for 12.4 days, but it isn't really a clock. Personally my preference is to indeed implement millisecondClockValue as microsecondClockValue // 1000, and simply live with the fact that its always a large integer. Hello, Is there any reason why we do not use microsecondClockValue to compute millisecondClockValue ? Other that "because someone has to do it" I mean. Iâve changed Time>>millisecondClockValue to be computed from microsecondClockValue and modulo change of the event stamp initialization, it seems to work normally. Cheers Alain

Tiling Window Manager: Enable on load

Hello :D I am a newbie in Pharo and have started to build my first application i.e. an offline text search application namely *searchQuick* which returns the list of file titles from the pre-loaded text files present in the resource folder when a string is searched for. You all are welcome to fork the code (https://github.com/jig08/sQuick_new) , try the infancy application and send in suggestions. Further, I would like to request to put up my application on the CI Automated Build server for Pharo. I have already registered on INRIA and my request to join 'Pharo Contribution' has also been approved. Further, I am searching for similiar projects as sQuick so that it would be easier to put for automated build using the existing build. It would be great if someone could guide me how to find similiar projects or exisiting templates. Regards Jigyasa

Hi Sven, list, I'm using Pillar, and thus STON for its configuration file. And since I want users to change configuration files as they want, I wanted to add some comments explaining the meaning of the file fields. This raises the question: How can I write comments in a ston file? I was checking the STON reader and it looks like that is not supported.
