Simple question about OSProcess
by Alexandre Bergel Sept. 29, 2015

Sept. 29, 2015

Hi! Time to time, the command "OSProcess waitForCommand: stringâ blocks. I have no idea why. A manually checks shows that the command has completed. Any idea why? I use OSX. Reflectivity: Links that de-install themselves (oneShot)
by Marcus Denker Sept. 28, 2015

Sept. 28, 2015

Hi, This is just a one-liner to add to the framework, but that makes it even more fun: One-Shot links. A link now can have the #optionOneShot, which means that it will de-install itself when activated for the first time: link := MetaLink new metaObject: self; options: #(optionOneShot); selector: #tagExec. The full test looks like this: testLinkOneShot | sendNode link | sendNode := (ReflectivityExamples>>#exampleMethod) sendNodes first. link := MetaLink new metaObject: self; options: #(optionOneShot); selector: #tagExec. sendNode link: link. self assert: sendNode hasMetalink. self assert: tag isNil. self assert: (ReflectivityExamples new exampleMethod = 5). self assert: (tag = #yes). self deny: sendNode hasMetalink. tag := nil. self assert: (ReflectivityExamples new exampleMethod = 5). self assert: tag isNil. https://pharo.fogbugz.com/f/cases/16581/one-shot-links Marcus

Changing method icons priorities in nautilus
by Peter Uhnák Sept. 28, 2015

Sept. 28, 2015

Hi, is it a good idea to have the test icon have higher priority than overrides (is overriding parent method/the method is overriden by a child) â Because the state of the test is also available from: 1) the test class itself 2) TestRunner (and one of the two I will have open regardless) And often a method affects more than one test so the icon is not representative of the state anyway. On the other hand if I want to reach the overriden method it's much harder because I have to open new browser, click on the class, find the method. So would it make sense to swap the priority? There's long standing issue in the tracker with having multiple icons per method, but resolving that from UI perspective is perhaps not as easy... (The remaining priorities seem ok... higher number = more important) â Peter

World.st has a new admin
by Geert Claes Sept. 28, 2015

Sept. 28, 2015

The admin duties have now been handed over to Sean DeNigris who kindly volunteered to look after the www.world.st web presence as well as the Nabble archived mailing list forums on forum.world.st. As mentioned in a previous post, I did establish The World of Smalltalk some years ago I have now unfortunately too many other things on my plate. So I feel a person who is closer to the Smalltalk action will be better suited to take over the reins and I wish Sean all the best to continue! -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/World-st-has-a-new-admin-tp4851811.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
