VM bug when loading from filetree repositories in Pharo 3

Hi all, When loading filetree repositories using Metacello in Pharo3 with the latest published stable vm, you continuously hit this vm bug [1]. Since there is no end in sight to solve that problem in the vm, it would be good to work around the problem and change the Metacello code as per the changes I attach to this email The changes are to change this: reader := MCStReader on: fileStream. (defs := reader definitions) size <= 1 ifFalse: [ self error: 'we should be writing exactly 1 definition per file' ] ]. into this: reader := MCStReader on: fileStream. defs := reader definitions. defs size <= 1 ifFalse: [ self error: 'we should be writing exactly 1 definition per file' ] ]. Understanding Workspace

Hello guys, I have started a new experiment of mine, a tool I call "Talos". I want Talos to become workspace on steroids. The first thing I want to implement is emacs like navigation. With that I mean keyboard shortcuts for moving inside the text like you can do with arrow keys already and the ability to move to the next word , the first character of next word, the last character of next word , previous world, quickly rename variables and all the great things one can do with emacs and vim. Of course I don't want to do all that at once, one step at a time. Now I have take a look at Workspace and it seems that it uses PlaggableTextMorph , it also looks like I can get the contents via PluggableTextMorph>>text instance side. The source code returned is also send to RBParser using the parseBlock method , I think for syntax highlighting. However because the PluggableTextMorph is very big and it does not even have a class comment, though quite a lot of methods are commented, I am really open to advice and suggestions on to how to parse the contents and manipulate the cursor position. I know I could use PettitParser but I dont know if there are better options out there, or maybe I am doing the whole thing wrong. So any advice and suggestion is more than welcomed.

GetText deleting Pharo classes

Hi, When GetText package (http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~PharoExtras/Gettext) is loaded in Pharo, it overwrites two Pharo classes with its own in System-Localization package: LocalID and NaturalLangaugeTranslator. Although so far I haven't seen any bugs in GetText because of this anomaly, one of the side-effects is that we get a dirty package in Monticello browser. Does anyone who is knowledge about the history of two packages know the reason to create classes with identical names? A solution would be to rename these classes in one of the packages. I have know a bit about the internals of GetText so I would be biased towards renaming its but I would need your suggestions/confirmation on how to proceed/which one to modify. tx. usman

JQueryWidgetBox build is green

ConfigurationOfJQueryWidgetBox version28 now uses release3.1 of Seaside, which currently refers to 3.1.0.2. It used to be 3.1.0 That makes the Pharo 2 builds green. Hi guys This is a call for some of you that committed code and would like to do it with me :). I have some projects that I would like to push further in 4.0 and I'm thinking that he could be much more fun to do it with other people. Here are some topics - integrating the systemLogger - integrating/improving the new method categorizer - cleaning fonts - ... How this could work? We could have - some discussions - make a little roadmap - then we could work on the same slice and do code review I think that it can be fun and motivating.
