Hi, I'm just getting back into pharo and starting with the current 2.0. I would like to be able maximize a window without having the wasted space outside it. I realize this maybe wasn't done because it keeps me from getting to the world menu. Is the NB-plugin in it working for anyone else? Downloading "Latest successful artifact" from https://ci.lille.inria.fr/pharo/view/Cog/job/NativeBoost-Cog-VM/Architectur… I just get the fallback-error from NativeBoost lastError when running NB-methods... Cheers, Henry

so once again rpackage is registered to the wrong announcer... I figured out that update 20200 first introduced this bug by wrongly resetting RPackage: http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=6326 It registered RPackageOrganizer to MCWorkingCopy announcer but SystemAnnouncer announcer == MCWorkingCopy announcer and by default RPackageOrganizer registers to SystemAnnouncer privateAnnouncer. obviously we got a double registration of RPackageOrganizer after this. Which can be easily fixed by doing: RPackageOrganizer registerInterestToSystemAnnouncement. The invariant that should hold is self assert: SystemAnnouncer announcer hasSubscriber: RPackageOrganizer default = false. self assert: SystemAnnouncer privateAnnouncer hasSubscriber: RPackageOrganizer default. however I still can't figure out where the damn bug got introduced again...

[Pharo-project] How to filter out method extensions in Ring?

Hello all, You may help me on this one. I want to filter out method selectors which are extensions of a particular class. For example, in Pharo 1.4 the ArrayedCollection class has these selectors: ArrayedCollection selectors asSortedCollection I would want all of them except #writeOnGZIPByteStream: which is in "Compression" package. I did a try to Ring ArrayedCollection selectors asSortedCollection collect: [ : each | RGMethodDefinition class: ArrayedCollection selector: each ] with MethodReference I did : ... ( each category beginsWith: '*' ) not ... but it seems not supported in Ring? Any hints? Cheers, HernÃ¡n

[Pharo-project] Way to see diffs between different builds?

Hi, Is there a way to see the diffs (in terms of changes to image) between one 2.0 build number and another? I don't see any obvious link on the CI server to it, and the github export seems to be done in a way that makes the diffs enourmous. If not, is there a way to do it in image? I can only see changes for individual MC packages, not a more system level diff to see exactly what changed from one build to another. I was starting to dig into the metacello bootstrapping problem in 2.0 and became clear to me it'd help me a lot if I could more easily follow the diffs. Thanks, Patrik

FFI docu just describes how to call external libs (written in C or others). The ODBC package is nothing more than a wrapper around some Win32 API functions like SQLAllocEnv, etc. The docu for them can be found in MSDN (just Google). If you want to track problems in the ODBC package check the code and see if it does correct callouts and use correct data types according to Microsoft specs. Just by looking at the code, maybe - #initializeDataTypes has a wrong definition - maybe the ODBCConstants definition is wrong - maybe #initializeResultSet:number: has a problem You should debug your problem since you have a reproducable case or switch to a newer, more supported package like DBXTalk with an active mailinglist. >Sorry, does that mean the name I gave to the Data source must be placed >in host?
