Hi, I notice that in 1.2 images build by CI, the System>Software update menu is enabled. Is this on purpose ? Is this a change of strategy ? I see that various critical changes are still being commited to 1.1 and 1.2 as well as 1.3. For these changes an update mechanism seems nice to have and very useful. I understand that full 1.1 -> 1.2 upgrades are not possible or advisable, that is OK. Sven

In my 1.2 images, I have OCompletion settings twice in the Settings browser: once on there own, once under Code browsing. Is that normal ? Sven

[Pharo-project] Call a external executable file. What is the best option?

I need call executable files of OS. I see various options, but IÂ´m not sure. I believe donÂ´t understand correctly. I need: -Call executable files from system. -Call associated programs of links, for example, I could pass 'http://google.com'. The result must be open the default browser of user with that link. -Call commands or .BATs files from OS. -I need use that on any OS, must be cross-platform, is very important. If that is not implemented on Pharo, is possible create a .exe file with another language, where I call functions of OS, and invoke from Smalltalk that exe? This happens with the original pharo.image, newer pharo.1.image. But if I open pharo.exe by clicking it (which automatically opens an image), I don't get this error. It only happens when I click on one of the .image files. I don't understand much the protocole with Text and if it is possible to serialize it. I can save a Text in a stream: |stream| stream := ReadWriteStream on: String new. myText storeOn: stream. But how to use the stream to create a new Text instance: The stream contents looks like: Text string: ''absd Hello with me c'' runs: (RunArray runs: #(5 5 6 2 2 ) values: ((Array new: 5)...
