[Pharo-project] Problem with Proxies, objects and MethoDict

Hi folks. I am trying to do something and I found a VM crash. Suppose I want to swap out a class, do a become with a proxy (that with the DNU will load the class back). In addition, I have instances of the swapped class. Example of code (will crash in the last line): o := MyObject new. o foo: 123. p := ClassProxy new. p become: MyObject. o == nil. o foo. My Object just extends Object, has an instVar 'foo', and implements the accessors. ClassProxy implements: become: aClass className := aClass name. aClass fileOut. super become: aClass and doesNotUnderstand: aMessage | reloadedClass | (FileStream fileNamed: className, '.st') fileIn. reloadedClass := Smalltalk at: className. self becomeForward: reloadedClass. ^aMessage sendTo: reloadedClass So....does someone know why the crash? how can I solve it ? How can we change the mouse cursor by a busy icon when the image is working? It's really annoying when it just freezes. Is there one place where we can do it, or the change should be spread all over the image? Cheers

Compatibility fix made on MorphoPhysics. It can now be loaded on both Squeak and Pharo. Before this fix, it was only for Squeak only. Here is the installation instruction. 1. install LazyRabbit : http://www.squeaksource.com/LazyRabbit.html 2. install MorphoPhysics : http://www.squeaksource.com/MorphoPhysics.html (no need to load MorphoPhysicsEtoyPlugin , MorphoPhysicsSeasidePlugin. Hello all, I just uploaded a fresh snapshots of NB plugin and image code, with necessary bits for using it under Linux. I don't know how to package Linux VM binaries, so you won't find a prebuilt VM and should build it yourself (anyone wants to help me with that, so i can add a prebuilt VM at downloads?). As usual, follow the installation instructions, located here: http://code.google.com/p/nativeboost/wiki/Installation Warning: recently, i found a bug in callback code. I'm always reading people saying that metacello configurations are some kind of... overdesign. So, maybe we need a tool (or to modify monticello browser) wich allow us to: - know wich packages are core and dev. Sometimes using a dev image, I write things depending on Dev packages and I don't realize it. - create automatically or propose configurations depending on the actual state of the packages. - browse configurations nicely :). It's a new concept, we need a nice tool to support it. Maybe if the configs are easily created, we can have more of them, and we will be no longer so lazy. Cheers, Guille
