Hi guys we created a slideshare acount for pharo I added 2009 smalltalks slides 2011 ESUG 2013 Pharo Conference a new lecture Intro Model Syntax http://www.slideshare.net/pharoproject/ Can you tell me if you can see the 2013 pharo conference? Do you know if there are limits on the number of presentations that we can upload, because I see (get public on this presentation => go pro). So I wonder if I want to invest in slideshare.

Motecello repository not committing methods(resources) of WAFileLibrary subclass

I find that WAFileLibrary subclasses resource methods cannot be committed to Monticello repository. Is this normal? These resources have been added by the WAFileLibrary->addFilesIn:method. But when i try to create another method and then commit, i find that the new method gets committed and that i can load it on a different image without issues. So then i filed out the WAFileLibrary subclass , and removed it from the image, and then i again filed it in. After when i commit, all the resource method gets committed and its seems things are fine. But why am i not able to commit it soon after creating the class , adding resources by addFilesIn: as such? Error âCant Find EOCD positionâ while loading project from Monticello

I Have set up an Monticello HTTP repository in my Windows pc. After i published my project in pharo 2.0 on to the repository from my Mac. Later i tried to load the project on another 2.0 image in windows and i found this error. Cant Find EOCD position. But i am able to load the project in another image in mac. Anybody have some idea what must be missing?

SS3, Gemsource, book.pharo.project.org MAINTENANCE has started

We have started maintenance on: ss3.gemstone.com, seaside.gemstone.com/ss book.pharo-project.org We expect the servers to be back online by 4pm PDT. When the servers come back online you should start using the new domain names: ss3.gemstone.com -> ss3.gemtalksystems.com seaside.gemstone.com -> seaside.gemtalksystems.com The domain for book.pharo-project.org will not change. All of the old domains will continue to be usable for about a year, but I recommend that you start switching to the new domain names as soon as you can. Dale

How To Implement A New Calendar

Hi all, In Iran we use a calendar different from Gergorian and Islamic calendars; it's called Jalali calendar[1]. The people in Afghanistan use the same calendar but with different month names. So, I was wondering how can I implement this calendar in Pharo? I've already done the conversion routines in Python[2] but that is nowhere near a real calendar. What I have in mind is a subclass (?) of `Date` which seamlessly supports all `Date` operations but using a different calendar system. I'd appreciate any hits/pointers. you can use fileReference writeStream setToEnd instead of just writeStream, that should be the same behavior as appendStream... I just noticed it: when adding a new repository, there's an option for projects on 'smalltalkhub.com'. Is this something new or I was just ignorant about this? Hello, I use in Pharo 2.0Â the class FileSystem to write in a text file(csv format).Â I find only two options writeStream and readStream.Â I would not like each time to overwrite the contents of my file and I do not find the option appendStream.
