Package Dependencies Analyzer

Hello Pharo users, let me introduce a new tool that I developed in the RMOD team: package dependencies analyzer. This project provides a tool able to analyze Smalltalk project packages and detect dependencies to other packages. It enables automatic dependency analysis to detect wrong project description (declared dependencies). It's very easy to use and i hope it will be helpful during your development time. As soon as possible, a next version will enable to detect cycle dependencies among packages. Pillar editor - Atom hides .ignored files

It might just be the configuration of Pillar used for the PharoLaserGameTutorial, but directory with the sources files get cluttered with a lot of generated files. However I discovered something interesting using Atom to edit the Pillar files. You can set the "Hide Vcs Ignored Files" option in the Tree View package to ignore the files configured in .gitignore. This really cleans up the navigator. btw, one for the wish list.... I like the way Atom provides a nice list of Keybindings per package, as well as overall. It would be nice to have something similar in Pharo. cheers -ben

Adding method to class

Roassal2 Composite Shape

Hi I'm trying to draw an ellipse inside another ellipse but to no avail. I've tried using RTCompositeShape but that just expands the size of the smaller shape. Is there something else I'm missing (like fixing dimensions so they won't get updated) or should I subclass RTAbstractCompositeShape and try to make something on my own? Thanks, Peter

Spec - vertically stacked Menu(Group)Model

Is it possible to force MenuModel to display its groups (and group's items) vertically instead of horizontally? The use case is having button palette to click on. Both world menu and subMenu of MenuItemModel render it this way but it is all hidden in the depths of Morphic. Is there any way how to switch this behavior at Spec level? (Or should I make it from scratch?) Peter

RFB: caught MessageNotUnderstood: Float>>bitShift:

Anyone has an idea why RFB would try sending #bitShift: to a float? This crashes the 2 VNC viewer I've tried. How do I get a halo on a specific UI object in Pharo 3/4?

In older versions of Squeak pharo - I think alt-click would cycle you through halos on objects in the UI. I have noticed in Pharo 3/4 - if I ctrl+shift click I get a menu that has many options, one of which is "add halo" - but how do I control which UI element I will get a halo on? Similarly - there is "inspect" in this menu, and it does give me a list of widgets (saying deepest first) - however I can't easily see which element corresponds with what is in the list? I know the old squeak halo system wasn't favoured - but now I try and find things in Pharo 3/4 - I miss the ability to visually cycle through items to understand what I can inspect? Is there no way to do this now? It was very useful. read an email with attachment

Hi Pablo, could you be more specific: - would you like to connect to a mail server and read the mails including the attachement (if so which protocols do you need, POP, IMAP and MAPI comes to mind) - or would you just like to extract it from a saved email file format Pharo includes support for POP3 (POP3Client and ZdcSecurePOP3Client used for sending mails). Typically it is used to send mails. Dont know if current implementation has support to retrieve mail infos as well, if not it would be good when code is extended to the according RFC. If I remember correctly there was also POP3 client to retrieve mail infos to Squeak, just google it. http://smalltalk.org/videos/video_Classes_POP3Client.html There was/is also Celeste - an email reader tool for Squeak. Dont know if code is still part of the base Squeak system.
