Customizing GTSpotter

I want customize GTSpotter so when it's called upon a specific morph has a different behavior. Because I will be building a node system I want to search only through nodes and sort them to categories. In essence I will be building a visual coding language very similar to Unreal's Blueprints. Can GTSpotter do this in a easy way ? I have read human assessment blog posts on GTSpotter but they focus on extending it than modifying it's basic behavior. Basically I want a secondary GTSpotter with heavily customized behavior.

SQLite and sure last_insert_rowid

Hi guys, In a multi-thread context use of Sqlite, I try to find out how one will fetch securely the automatically last row index of a Primary key. The problem seems to be that between the insert of rows in a table and the moment you request the last row id, you may have another insert from another thread in the same database. In the code bellow, I put the insert and last_insert_rowid() call in a transaction. The returned rowid value is the right one as expected, and now I am wondering if enclosing in a transaction is enought to make the last_insert_rowid() safe. Any trips how you handle this situation? Image not starting

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on the project file policy and I'm having a problem that I don't understand I import my code, configure my image as readOnly (Pharo won't try to write on changesFiles,source,image....), set the folder of the image in readonly and try to open the image again and it's not possible, I don't get any stacktrace so it's hard to understand the problem. PS : If we set back the folder in write mode, it's possible again to open the image again. State of Pharo in comparison with the "Pharo vision" document

Hello everyone, For a university project I need to write a little about Pharo. I found the "Pharo vision" document [1] and I am curious about the actual state of Pharo in comparison with it. I have seen some things on the mailing list but I would like some help to gather the state of each goal described in "Pharo vision" version 1.0. I made a list with the goals and wrote some of the (little) knowledge I have about some elements (I also joined it to this mail in case it is not readable): Goals -> State ------------------- 1. Creation of the Pharo Consortium -> Created 2. Small kernel & validated packages -> ? 3. A Robust and Extensible System Events -> ? 4. Rewrite of Filesystem/Streams -> ?/XStream? 5. Hi, I just want to let you know that we will be starting our next Data Week in few days. It's a 6 days intensive hackathon-workshop split in two sessions from Thursday to Saturday each one in. Next one will be on Jul 21 to 23 and Jul 28 to 30. As usual, we work with an approach from data activism & visualization. It's an event directed towards a broader diverse population, coming from art, journalism and with different levels of expertise, specially newbies, all interested in data visualization. As a result we improve the tools [1] and packages [2] and learning materials [3] (Spanish). Is a good way to bridge local and international community. You can find more information (in Spanish) about the event and our tool at [3a] and [3b]. Four our next project, we will work on our a project called Twitter Data Selfies (draft info at [4]). I will keep you posted about our advancements, improvements and problems here and in slack and share some more in real time, using the #DataWeek4 hashtag on Twitter [5]. Visual coding with Pharo

I am having a ton of fun doing visual coding with Unreal engine's visual coding language "Blueprint" which a full blown live programming language. Was wondering what Pharo has to offer on this field I know about Phratch Is there anything else ? I would like try to play around with this concept. I remember Sean used to have a prototype around.

Thanks Davide. If its not too much trouble and you'd like to learn a bit more about the contribution process, could you submit your fix following the instructions at [1]. Create two issues, one with Milestone=Pharo5, and a subcase with Milestone=Pharo6. Policy is for fixes to be integrated to Pharo 6 first, then back ported to Pharo5. Spec, Icons in subclasses of ComposableModel

Hi, In the issue 18742 add class to manage focusorder, Peter UhnÃ¡k says: " The idiomatic way of creating icons should be either #smallBackIcon asIcon (ideally) or the long-form (Smalltalk ui icons iconNamed: #smallBackIcon) " But there is a third way, ComposableModel defines iconNamed: like that ComposableModel>>iconNamed: aSymbol ^ Smalltalk ui icons iconNamed: aSymbol So it is possible to use self iconNamed: #smallBackIcon So my question is: what way is really ideal ?
