Thanks for this Norbert. It works great with Teapot microservices that are associated with specific JQuery widget instances. I can insert the token into the widget's callback to the pot so that only that widget instance can use that particular service. The way our web app works is that it generates a JSP with all the repetitive content / look and feel, and inserts JQuery widgets to display any dynamic data. Since the data I'm working on comes from a Pharo app I configure the JQuery widget and a pot, and supply the widget to the Java EE server from Seaside to generate the full page. The widget also keeps a lease open with the Seaside server and when the user leaves the page and the widget stops requesting the lease, Pharo can recycle the pot. in Nautilus, clicking a pane with few items in it changed in Pharo 5

In Pharo 4 if e.g. the method pane had 3 methods, the bottom method would be selected when clicking in the empty region at the bottom of the pane. In Pharo 5 nothing is selected. I prefer the old behavior because then I could use my arrow keys to begin navigating the pane. Is there a way to get that behavior back in Pharo 5? Thanks Paul

Messages interceptions without using "halt"

Hello, i am not new to Pharo nor to the list but this is the first time i speak here, so : hi =) I started a phd a few month ago (with Alain Plantec) on context oriented programming and dynamic programs adaptation. I am using Pharo for my experiments and i would like to intercept messages sent to an object just before they get to their receiver. To be more specific, when #msg is sent to an object o, i want to be able to intercept it just before it is actually executed with the following objects at my disposal : the receiver (o), the message or selector, the sender. My objective by doing that is to (try to) change the lookup for a given method, and to be able to choose in which class the lookup will start. I have been looking a bit and it does not seem to be a "simple" way to do that in Pharo. Is that even possible and if so, any advice on where i should look ? Thanks, Steven.

Stack trying to use Pier 3 with Pharo 5

data driven web apps - reactivity - how to do that in Pharo/Zn ?

Hi all, I would like to have a reactive approach in a web client, i.e. when the data changes in the server or the client the change is propagatedâ¦ I liked this when trying meteor and DDP (its data driven protocol). I now use Zinc with templates using mustache. Itâs quite straightforward.Now Iâd like to have the Â« reactivity Â» dimension. Do you have any pointer or ideas ? Iâm having a look right now at these solutions: - mapless + redis (http://sebastianconcept.github.io/Mapless/) I donât know if usable - doesnât load form the catalog - http://knockoutjs.com Anyone tried that ? I am really interested in this work on JWT. We've been using it quite a lot. For instance we use JWT to link an application written in PHP to a Firebase backend. Works beautifully. The thing that I am still trying to wrap my head around, is whether there is a â standard â way of using the claims asserted in the JWT token to control access to objects in a Pharo/seaside application. I know that gemstone has an access control list system but does anything like that exist in Pharo? If not, how do people control access to the data? Cheers Andy,

Displaying text in OpenGL

Hello, As in title, I would like to display text in OpenGL, the "right" way (https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/OpenGL_Programming/Modern_OpenGL_Tutorial_Tex…) Basically, there is one texture acting as cache for all glyphs actually displayed on screen, and we render one quad per glyph, with proper texture coordinates. Empty debugger - Pharo 5.0

I've gotten to a point where I get a single frame in a debugger ... Here's a healthy halt run from a playground: healthy halt and here's the empty halt: empty halt When I open a debugger I only see the one frame .. this is not quite right ... The other thing that happens in this mode is that halts don't halt the ui process and I can end up with a screen full of halt if I put a halt in a loop or worse I end up with infinite errors, because the UI process is not halted (at least that's my current hypothesis) ... There is a UI process and I have saved and restarted the image at this point: process browser In a helathy image the UI process stack looks very similar, but I do notice that I've got an OSSubprocess child watcher in the healthy image and it is missing from the sick image: healthy process It appears that I create this problem when I terminate a debugger that was brought up in an ensure block ... once I've done this the image becomes completely unusable (for development and debugging) and I have to create a new image from scratch ... I'm hoping that someone can give me the secret formula for repairing things ... Is the UI process instance cached somewhere and when I nuke the process running ensure blocks the debugger's ensure block doesn't run or some such thing? I'll follow this route as I investigate ... any help would be appreciated as this makes debugging very time consuming Dale
