ZnCharacterReadWriteStream error?

Hello all, I'm attempting to install the OpenAPI package <https://github.com/zweidenker/OpenAPI> from Github via metacello and am experiencing an error I'm having trouble wrapping my head around. The package itself requires nothing exotic in terms of dependencies, and seems to be pulling in Zinc from correct sources in the baseline. The error I'm seeing is a DNU on ZnBufferedReadWriteStream >> #defaultBufferSize. This is odd because it seems to be called from ZnBufferedReadWriteStream >> on: You can find my error stack in this Github issue <https://github.com/zweidenker/OpenAPI/issues/19>. Thanks! -- Eric

class scoped code re-writing in pharo 7?

Hi - In pharo 7 how do I use the re-write tool to rewrite sends in only one class? I don't see how to browse scoped to just one class and also where the re-write tool is in the UI. Specifcally I want to change anObj record: aThing at: aTime to self record: aThing into: anObj at: aTime across 70 ish sends of #record:at: in one or two classes. Thanks Paul

Rubric architecture

Cheers, Is there any documentation about the architecture of Rubric? At the moment I feel like I am up to my ears in Editor, EditingModes, EditingStates, Areas, the occasional morphs, Paragraphs etc. Besides, I am not even sure I should be looking at Rubric. RubAbstractTextArea>>class comment: "I am a re-implementation of TextMorph. I'm intended as a temporary solution. Soon, I will be replaced by, or integrated with, TxText, a beautiful new text toolkit.â Editor>>class comment: "New text editors.â Hmm - since there is no dates in there, and Smalltalk is old, âsoonâ or ânewâ is kind of hard to figure out. BlockClosure

Hello fellow Pharoians (?) from a lonely Swede. I just found out about Pharo (and Smalltalk) two days ago and I'm already loving it :) However, there is a behavior I would like to change, or be enlightened about how it could be done. As I understand it (bear with me) BlockClosure from Kernel-Methods does not understand (by default?) how to respond to an "anonymous object" (no message name). Is there any way this could be implemented? I'll post an example soon (I currently use both Pharo 7 and 8) If I write the following: [:x | x + 1] value: 3 and evaluate it, I get the expected result, which is 4. That's nice. What I would really like is to be able to just send 3 to BlockClosure and make it repond as above. Like this: [:x | x + 1] 3 or like this: 3 [:x | x + 1] Would this be possible? ----------------------- Also as a bonus, would it be possible to use this for "function composition", "Block composition" or similar? Example of composition: [ :f :g | [ :x | f value: (g value: x) ] ] I could use this construct like this for example: (([ :f :g | [ :x | f value: (g value: x) ] ]) value: [:x | x + 1] value: [:x | x - 1]) value: 5 Butâ¦ It's a bit wordy. What I would like to be able to do (essentialy remove "value:"): (([ :f :g | [ :x | f (g x) ] ]) [:x | x + 1] [:x | x - 1]) 5. Or in one line: (([ :f :g | [ :x | f (g x) ] ]) [:x | x + 1] [:x | x - 1]) 5. While this might seem obscure, I would really find it useful. Can it be done? Hi, the STHub -> PharoExtras project "BitmapCharacterSet" 1. was now moved from http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~PharoExtras/BitmapCharacterSet to https://github.com/pharo-contributions/BitmapCharacterSet including the FULL HISTORY The old STHub repo was marked as obsolete - but is linking to the new one 2. the test package "Collections-Tests-BitmapCharacterSet" was renamed into "Collections-BitmapCharacterSet-Tests" 3. Travis CI job was setup (https://travis-ci.org/pharo-contributions/BitmapCharacterSet) for P7 which is green 4. the new version is tagged in git as version 1.2.7. 5. the Config was adopted with 1.2.7 and uploaded into MetaRepoForPharo70 so it works in catalog You can load "BitmapCharacterSet" in Pharo 7 and 8 from Catalog or via load instructions Metacello new baseline: 'BitmapCharacterSet'; repository: 'github://pharo-contributions/BitmapCharacterSet/src'; load.
