Canvas: Transform Width and Height Independently

I'm implementing a SimpleImageMorph which squeezes the form into the Morph's inner bounds instead of the weird TransformMorph thing. As a spike, I wrote: | transform scale | scale := self innerBounds width / self image width. transform := MorphicTransform new setScale: scale. aCanvas warpImage: self image transform: transform at: self innerBounds origin But obviously this only takes the width into account. Text styling

Hi, I would like to have editor which would support different text styles and sizes (e.g. each line different font/size/style/color/...)... Rubric seems to be able to do it, Morphic is most likely also capable of that. In the mailing list I also saw TxText, however looking at it yesterday it doesn't seem ready (broken fonts)... so which one would you recommend? Rubric/Morphic/wait for TxText if soon/something else/...? Thanks, Peter

Pharo-Launcher does not launch image in Ubuntu

Hi, pharo-launcher starts perfectly, I can even download i.e. the latest Pharo 4 beta, but when trying to launch that image I receive the following error 200 times or more until pharo closes *** stack smashing detected ***: /usr/lib/pharo-vm/pharo-vm terminated output file stack is full. I did some chowns to /usr/lib/pharo-vm /usr/share/pharo-vm and /usr/share/pharo-launcher Even run pharo as root But nothing seems to work I loaded ppa:pharo/unstable I'm using Netrunner 15 x86_64 (which is based in Ubuntu Utopic) Thanks in advance for any help. GSOC 2015 Call for Ideas

Dear pharoers, this year Pharo consortium (and community) is going to take part in a Google Summer of Code event[1] as a standalone organization. This is an opportunity to promote Pharo, get some job done and have students paid. Currently we are at the most important stage as we are preparing the organization application, and hoping that we will be accepted and granted decent amount of project slots. Everyone can help with application by submitting ideas for student projects. Current list can be found at: https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo-project-proposals/blob/master/Topics… It is in STON format, and result is being generated at: http://gsoc.pharo.org/ Please add your ideas following the format of existing projects and open a pull request with them (you will need a github account). Preferably submit ideas with possible mentors, but if none are available at the moment ideas without mentors are also welcome. Seaside jQuery - Sorting a list with drag and drop and sending it back via Ajax causes OrderedCollection to turn into an Array?

As soon as I move the rows around in the page then entire list is sent back in it's new order. However, this time setItemList: receives an Array. Does this make any sense? Am I missing something?

One of the key principles was uniformity e.g. the World, Hand, etc could all be regular objects, like any other Morph. BaselineOf vs ConfigurationOf

Hi, can anybody tell me the difference between BaselineOfX and ConfigurationOfX? The only thing I've gathered is that BaselineOf is used for Git projects, while ConfigurationOf for Monticello projects; but usage-wise they seem identical. Thanks, Peter

Any static web site generators for pharo with bootstrap support?

Hi all, I'm planning to make a web site. Nothing fancy, just a web site for the grafoscopio project I have told you about already. I started to use Nikola blog engine[1], but, after a while I thought I want to try something else, something that can create static web sites like Nikola, but with more interactive feedback and made in Smalltalk. I have found Bootstrap for Seaside [2], but I don't want the "Seaside" part in the sense that I don't want to create any behaviour served by Seaside or configure any server for that matter, just to put some Smalltalk code that produces static html powered by boostrap and put it under distributed source control management, like I do now with my blog. There is something like that in Pharo/Smalltalk or any approach you suggest me to make it happen fluidly? What UI direction now (or in the near future)?

Hello! Suppose, that I need to write simple UI app + write my own UI list component (some special behaviour, canât use default list UI component from Pharo) + I need perfect keyboard support (shortcuts, tab navigation + navigation by cursor keys in some windows), which also means, that I need perfect UI component âfocusâ supportâ¦ Another priority: I do not want to learn things (in exhaustive detail) that expire in 2 years. Current status: I like Smalltalk (Pharo!), know basics of Morphic and I noticed some future as Athens and Bloc. I am trying to get out from âclosedâ app development and Apple âclosedâ technologies as ObjC/Swift/Cocoa and want to be little more productive and platform independent. Simple, snappy, attractive and smooth UI is the key for me/users. And nowâ¦ which direction: 1) old Morphic (simple powerful work with old Morphs etc.) 2) Morphic + Athens drawing (maybe I donât understand the connection) 3) Bloc Sub-questions: A) Is Bloc (complete Morphic rewrite, sigh) âone man showâ? What about future, support, long-term issues? Look at Marina CMS framework, even used for Pharo website, but not maintained now... B) Is Bloc prepared with Retina displays in mind (perfect smooth fonts and graphics, scaling, more detailed images for retina etc.)?
