Hi, what would be the equivalent of an OrderedSet? 1. all elements are unique 2. they are ordered 3. adding an existing element moves it so myOrderedSet addLast: x. "<- x is added as last" myOrderedSet addFirst: x. "<- x is moved from last to first" Thanks, -- Peter

Code pane in Pharo 5

Is there a way to have that pane with *less* noise around the code? Like getting rid of the suggestions panel at the bottom? Or the status line with W +L Format as you type? Not that I do not like them (at times), just that all of the bright red/green icons are distracting (a little more toned down color would be welcome). With small methods, this makes a lot of text in the way. When there are a ton of Nautiluses around, this adds up. I feel like I code on a Christmas tree. Phil

ZnClient problem with extensions

I am on Yosemite, latest 5 image, lastest VM and using this code ZnClient new url: ' https://github.com/kilon/ChronosManager/archive/master.zip'; setIfModifiedSince: (Date year: 2015 month: 12 day: 1); downloadTo: FileLocator imageDirectory. it downloads the file but does not append the extension ".zip" as it should. Unfortunately setIfModifiedSince: does not seem to be supported by Github :(

Hello guys, I would like to present you MacroRecorder, a tool to build custom source code transformations in Pharo. The tool is available in the Catalog for some weeks now. The current version runs in Pharo 5 and there is an old version running in Pharo 4. To show how this tool works, I prepared a quick demo video. New Introductory Tutorial

I've created Yet Another Smalltalk First Steps tutorial. This is intended as one of a series. It is designed to be cross-platform across Squeak 5 Pharo 4 Seaside 3.1 Cuis Dolphin 6 If you have experience running any of these systems on Windows, Linux or MacOS, please check to see if I have the instructions correct for your chosen pairing of Smalltalk and OS platform. (As you'll see when you look, I do not have detailed instructions for aspects of MacOS). I feel the need to do this as cross-Smalltalks tutorial because of findings and 4 charts I've placed at: http://smalltalkinsmallsteps.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/mindshare-of-smalltalk-… Essentially, Smalltalk mindshare and use is incredibly tiny, compared to other languages in the same space. (We all know this, but seeing it represented graphically has a more visceral effect, IMO) Aggregating interest in all the Smalltalks still does not bring more than a tiny proportion of the interest in, and use of, Ruby. In turn, Ruby is (quite understandably) small in comparison to JavaScript. Comparing interest in any specific Smalltalk is, predictably, smaller than the aggregate interest in Smalltalk. Our community seems determined to split itself into smaller and smaller sub-communities. I think we do ourselves a disservice this way. My initial contribution will be to try to provide some explicitly pan-Smalltalk beginners' tutorials, like this one. Cheers, and happy Smalltalking, EuanM
