Hi Igor, hi all! I am not sure how to properly draw ellipse. Right now I draw a path like this: The path is created that way: -=-=-=-=- computePath path := self athensCanvas createPath: [ :builder | builder absolute; moveTo: 0 @ 0.5; ccwArcTo: 0.5 @ 0.0 angle: 90 degreesToRadians; ccwArcTo: 0.0 @ -0.5 angle: 90 degreesToRadians; ccwArcTo: -0.5 @ 0.0 angle: 90 degreesToRadians; ccwArcTo: 0 @ 0.5 angle: 90 degreesToRadians ] -=-=-=-=- And draw it like this: -=-=-=-=- drawOn: athensCanvas athensCanvas pathTransform restoreAfter: [ athensCanvas pathTransform scaleBy: rectangle extent asFloatPoint athensCanvas setPaint: color; drawShape: self path. Reading the last n lines from a file without using lots of memory

I wonder how you guys would read the last n lines from a file in Pharo without reading through the whole thing. Is there code doing just that somewhere? The code I have is a shell script doing a 'tac file | tail -200 > /temp/something' I can always do that through OSProcess but wondered if there was something available. Reading through with a 200-entries FIFO circular buffer seems a bit silly to do. TIA Phil

A question about sets

Hi there, i am new to Smalltalk and Pharo and today, while trying out some examples, i observed an somewhat strange behaviour. I used this snippet from the pharo.org website: | numbers | numbers := Set new. 10 timesRepeat: [ numbers add: 100 atRandom ]. numbers explore. Using Pharo 3.0 on my Laptop with Manjaro Linux 32bit and copy pasting the snippet above into the workspace i get sometimes a set with 10 values, sometimes with 9 values and once a set with just 8 values. Using this snippet, just to test the timesRepeat message: 10 timesRepeat: [ Transcript show: (100 atRandom); cr. ]. i always get 10 values. Is the behaviour with the first snippet correct? Giving sometimes 10 or 9 or even 8 values. Or is it a bug? I would expect to always get 10 values in my set. By the way i am totally excited about your cool programming environment. Hi, I have written a new, extensive, long form, introductory article about Pharo. Rediscovering the UX of the legendary HP-35 Scientific Pocket Calculator A tutorial on Pharo, test and specification based immersive programming https://medium.com/@svenvc/rediscovering-the-ux-of-the-legendary-hp-35-scie… It is a bit different because - it is based on a non-trivial example - it uses a backdrop story unrelated to Pharo - it uses several multimedia elements - it is published on medium.com which is a general publishing platform The appendix describes several ways you can get the code. I think building both a Spec and Seaside UI from the same specification as well as reusing functional tests in different contexts is cool. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. Loading petitparser when Voyage is loaded is taking an awful long time

Looks like there is an announcement for added methods that is used by Voyage when loading packages. I was loading PetitParser and the image appeared unresponsive for quite a while. Is there a way to disable that check temporarily? Phil
