XMLWriter MCZ File

Hello all I was looking for the XMLWriter package because it seems it is not part of the complete XML package but I am not sure which is the newest one since I have found several here : http://www.squeaksource.com/XMLWriter/ I am using pharo 2.0 just in case this is relevant. New win32 VM available (was: More than 500MB for windows)

So, after spending unproportionally huge time (2days) dealing with jenkins config idiosyncrasies, it finally managed to build it. http://files.pharo.org/vm/pharo/win/latest.zip This VM should react properly on AddressSpaceLimit=<number of MBytes> setting in .ini file. The ini file is located in same directory as VM executable. If it doesn't exists, you can run VM once and it will create it automatically. Thanks for patience. -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko.

Question about dynamic spec

Hi, I've implemented a small UI using the dynamic features of spec and I'd like to know if there isn't a better way to do it. My use case is simple: I have a normal ComposableModel that has two models - a list and a DynamicComposableModel. The DynamicComposableModel should contain a list of buttons that should change every time the user selects an element in the list. I've implemented a demo that can be seen if you download the package DynamicSpec-Examples from http://www.smalltalkhub.com/mc/AndreiChis/Playground/main and execute the code from the class comment of DSChangingButtons. My problem is that the widget containing the buttons has to define a spec layout on the class side. I haven't found a way to tell the spec layout to add a widget and use a method on the object for constructing the layout. I've manage to get away by dynamically reconstructing the layout when the selection changes, however it's not that nice because I had to duplicate the layout of the main widget both on the class side and the object side. It would be nice to add a widget to the layout like this: 'aSpec dynamicAdd: modelGetter withSpec: aSymbol ' that would call aSymbol on the object and not on the class. This may or may not make sense :) To be concrete, the method DSToolbarModel>>updateButtons will call the method dynamicLayout on it's parent which in turn will call dynamicLayoutWithSpec: on the toolbar. I'd like to avoid this, and when specifying the layout of the parent widget to call a method on the instance side of it subwidgets to get their layout. Phexample state keeping

I'm playing with Phexampe because I think that in my current project the setup of test scenarios will be a huge part of the testing. So do it in a structured way reducing doubled initialization procedures should be something good. I'm just wondering how the state is kept between dependent test cases. A Phexample test case returns a value so that value := self given: #shouldHaveCollectedSomeState transfers the state from the dependent test case into the current. What do you do if the state produced is more complex than a single value? To be honest I don't understand why in a test case that calls #given: a tearDown/setUp cycle is executed between the first and the second test case. I think while using #given: I make the second test case explicitly dependent on the first. Why should I reset state collected by the first before executing the second? I'm a bit reluctant to create new classes for all collected state scenarios so that I can return them properly from one test case to another. Any ideas? thanks, Norbert

More than 500MB for windows

[I know there were some discussions on the topic and the topic of 64-bit VM but I'm not sure where we stand today]. I would like to know if we can allocate more than 500MB for pharo virtual machine in Windows? I am getting an "Out Of memory" msg and the following VM statistics when trying to parse a large application with Moose. Increasing the size would be the cheapest option (in terms of effort) before trying other optimizations. tx [image: Inline image 1]
