Hello every one :) I am glad to announce the version 1.0 of Spec which introduce a couple of nice features like: - 10 times faster - better semantic - better layout management You can load it in Pharo 1.4 by executing the following snippet: Gofer new url: 'http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/Spec'; package: 'ConfigurationOfSpec'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfSpec) perform: #loadDefault. Moving settings to another image

Hi, first of all, sorry if this is a trivial question. I'm starting to develop in a new image and I would like to move the settings from a previous one. I was hoping to find something like "import/export settings". Is there a way of doing this? Thanks in advance! AndrÃ©s

Finding the package of a class

"PackageOrganizer default packageOfClass: FileSystemError" returns the category, whether it's a separate package or not. How do I get the mc package? The only thing I can think of is something like: MCWorkingCopy allInstances detect: [ :e | e packageName beginsWith: aString ] but it seems like there should be a built-in way, and the above is naive e.g. if aString = 'Package', the condition will be true for Package and PackageTests, which is wrong... Opening an URL from Pharo

Hi. Does anyone know how can I tell the OS to open (in a web browser) my URL from Pharo. Something like, OS openUrl: 'http://www.google.com' and that should open Google in the OS default web browser. Need help with Pharo 1.4 packages.

identifying zip and comparing to current local Pharo install

Hi Would it be a nuisance for a file such as Pharo-1.4-14438-OneClick.zip to include an empty text file named 14438 or to add that id to the readme along with date (preferably the former - but since the date is being written there anyway ... ) I no longer have the DASD on this laptop to keep all of these zip's, but at the same time like our clean install using just 'Pharo-1.4' directory naming. Comparing the dates in README.txt seems silly when the zip already carries an id. Just one of those little things that makes morning coffee more enjoyable ...
