Hi guys I'm thinking aloud... I was wondering if we could not take advantage of a new class: Selector. MethodDict would only contain selectors and not symbols. I remember that I talked about that with hernan. Stef

Postmark email library

Hi guys, I've made a simple wrapper around the Postmark API. It lets you send emails without dealing with a SMTP server. Package browser?

I am attempting to do the Pharo by Example book, but a package browser (which is used in the examples) is not in the 1.1.1 or 1.2 image. Should I still use categories? If I create a package in Monticello browser I am not able to add classes or anything (not as far as I could see). Just starting out using Pharo, so apologies if these questions are already answered elsewhere.

Zinc crashes an image.

Hi - I'm pretty sure I'm having the same problem Phillipe had/described in this message: http://forum.world.st/Zinc-crashing-image-at-start-up-td3785797.html At least the PharoDebug.log is the same. It happens on both the most recent Cog and interpreter VM. Is there a way to recover from this? I could follow Sean's instructions from this thread if necessary: http://forum.world.st/Fwd-Oops-I-put-a-halt-in-a-startup-method-td3800729.h… Or is there a way to extract changes from a changes file for one image into another image? I'd rather fix the broken image but if its not possible I'd then just try to load those changes I don't have. Thanks for any guidance you can provide. Paul

Menubar at the top of Pharo's main window

Hi, First of all, congratulations for the new 1.4 release. Iâm not new to Smalltalk but I am to Pharoâs UI. All I did until now in Pharo was using it as server (Seaside). I saw some applications done with Pharo that show a menu bar at the very top of its main window (lets say, above Pharoâs logo). Iâm wandering how to do that. All samples I saw (and correct me if Iâm wrong) first create a new window (ie a StandardWindow) and then add the menubar and menu to it. Any sample I can look at? Thanks Christian

Nautilus history combo problem

Hi all, First of all thanks for pharo 1.4 :D. Thanks for nautilus, a new browser easily extensible and "inside" the pharo is much appreciated. I still have few flight ours with smalltalk and pharo so please be gentle. Now the work I just downloaded pharo 1.4 and I loaded Nautilus browser by doing Gofer it url: 'http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/Nautilus'; package: 'ConfigurationOfNautilus'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfNautilus) loadRelease. Everything goes well, I can use Nautilus. But I'm getting a nasty behavior when I click the history combo after seeing the groups (by the way I love this abstraction). The nasty behavior is that all gets stuck, and for a reason I can't explain neither the user interrupt is responding. Cpu usage goes to 100%. (An endless loop?) I can live without the history combo but when I accidentally click it all gets stuck and i should restart pharo, get the changes I couldn't save and is totally annoying. I was wondering if there is a browser that - let me rename methods - supports code completion - generate getters and setters for selected instance variables - supports refactorings ? Regards Roger
