Why is there both a standard VM and a headless VM?

This may be a silly question but why are there two VMs? Since the headless VM seems to do everything the standard VM does plus you can write proper Gtk apps with it, why would you ever use anything else? I seem to recall someone saying a while ago that the headless VM had not been optimised yet so was slower than the standard VM. Is that all it is?

Are you able to push to github this morning? I'm not able to push in any of my pharo images from my laptop but I can push from other applications... It returns a 403 error, I changes from https to rsa keys(and added my public key to the github project) to and same result.

Hi Torsten, Further ... I just saw that SBSDevelopmentLibrary contains CSS & JS - however its for 5.0.1, Further the download library may not contain popper as mentioned in getbootstrap The JS library loaded thru html script is 5.0.2 (its in updateRoot: and renderContentOn:) If this has a bearing to carousel, collapse & modal not working then a clean up may help I tried importing the 5.0.2 JS/CSS files in a FileLibrary but it thru an error. [ANN] Bootstrap 5 for Seaside in Pharo

Hi, after some of you are using https://github.com/astares/Seaside-Bootstrap4 I wanted to let you know that I just published the new / updated project to support for Bootstrap 5 web development (https://getbootstrap.com) in Seaside using Pharo. Project location is on GitHub: https://github.com/astares/Seaside-Bootstrap5 It might not be fully complete by 100% with all new possibilities of BS5 - but it is usable and tests are green in Pharo 8 and Pharo 9. Examples are included, just follow the instructions on the Github page. Feel free to send contributions via PR's. Have fun! T.

Zeroconf downloading latest rather than stable

Hi there. I have done a clean install of Pharo 9.0 using the zeroconf on get.pharo.org. I am using curl https://get.pharo.org | bash When running the environment, I get a message at startup telling me that my VM is too old and that I should install a newer one - I am running it on an M1 MacMini. However, after discussions on Discord, it seems that the above script installs the latest âstableâ, not the latest VM. How do I get out of this little wrinkle? David

Hello community Just a little mail from holidays to let you know that from September on we will try a new organisation. Pharo 9 (with Covid and amount of work) was stressful for us. Seriously we deliver more than expected so we did several meta meetings (and we will continue) to understand how we can work with less stress. In particular we want to be able to give better feedback to the community while being able to deliver the large items we have on our plate. In a nutshell every month we will have - a full working day around - design ideas such as https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo/wiki/01-PhIP-Simplify-Pragma-Storage - new tools such as MethodProxies to look at our lovely system in different ways https://github.com/pharo-contributions/MethodProxies - code review - a full internal bug/issue internal sprint we want to be able to concentrate on issues that require concentration and we want to make sure that we can provide feedback and integrate PRs that need brain. - our monthly open sprint (we hope that Covid 4th wave will not break our fun once again).
