Hello everybody, how would I create a keyboard shortcut for a method I have defined in my class or package? for example if I would like to have a keyboard shortcut for a method that opens the Transcript and display the âHello I am the new shortcutâ message? thanks for the help. peace.d

Greetings, I am starting with Artefact for pdf in Seaside App. Documents are contracts. I do not achieve the following functions: -Justification of text in paragraphs. -Pagination. -Letters with accents Ã¡ Ã© Ã Ã³ Ãº Ã± Ã (utf8) or (iso8859-1). These functions are possible?. Splitting a single HTTP Request into multiple concurrent requests

Hi, Somebody asked how you would split single HTTP Request into multiple concurrent requests. This is one way to do it. Upfront I should state that - I do no think this is worth the trouble - It is only applicable to large downloads (even larger than in the example) - The other side (server) must honour Range requests correctly (and be fast) This one is based on the data used in the ZnHTTPSTest(s)>>#testTransfers units test. More specifically the files available under https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/public-stfx-eu/ such as https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/public-stfx-eu/test-2050.txt for the smallest one. sizes := (Integer primesUpTo: 100) collect: [ :each | 1024 * each + each ]. size := sizes last. concurrency := 11. step := size // concurrency. ranges := (0 to: size - 1 by: step) collect: [ :each | { each. (each + step) min: size } ]. chunks := Array new: ranges size. done := Semaphore new. ms := 0. [ ms := Time millisecondClockValue. ranges withIndexDo: [ :range :index | [ | client | (client := ZnClient new) https; host: 's3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com'; addPath: 'public-stfx-eu'. client addPath: ('test-{1}.txt' format: { size }). client headerAt: #Range put: ('bytes={1}-{2}' format: range). client get. client close. chunks at: index put: client contents. done signal ] forkAt: Processor lowIOPriority ]. ranges size timesRepeat: [ done wait ]. ms := Time millisecondsSince: ms. Two things to note: connection time dominates, in the parallel case, 11 independent requests were executed, so concurrency is definitively happening. The largest size file is just 100k, split in about 10 parts, which is most probably not enough to see much effect from doing things in parallel. HTH, Sven

We have an advanced prototype, and we need help of participants to be part of our experiment involving our software called VRIDE, a fully immersive VR programming tool. In this experiment: â¢ You will be given a set of tasks to perform using our platform. The experiment should not take more than 1 - 1.5 hours. â¢ After that, you will have to answer some surveys and other final questions. For this month's meeting, Cincom Smalltalk ( https://www.cincomsmalltalk.com/main/ ) product manager Arden Thomas will discuss recent product changes and improvements and demonstrate some tools and features of ObjectStudio and VisualWorks 9.1. Arden ( https://twitter.com/ArdenTCST ) started working with Smalltalk in 1986, looking for a better way to do software development â and he found it. Arden built factory floor layout tools for IBM, worked at ParcPlace as an SE, an instructor, and consultant, and at a hedge fund building financial analysis tools. why do I not see the menu here in my seaside project

UK Smalltalk User Group Meeting - Wednesday, September 29th 2021

The next meeting of the UK Smalltalk User Group will be on Wednesday, September 29th. For this month's meeting, we take a look at an example of an application written in Smalltalk. Specifically, one that fits in a cultural tradition that is as old as Smalltalk itself, if not older: that of using computers as tools to teach powerful ideas and to augment thinking. Dr. Geo ( http://drgeo.eu/ ) is an interactive geometry software with programming capabilities in Smalltalk. Dr. Geo aims to be an open, easy to study, modify and extend interactive geometry software. Ten years old kids use Dr. Geo to explore Euclidean geometric sketches; agile kids extend and program it with its embedded dynamic Pharo language and user interface. Hilaire Fernandes started the development of Dr. Geo in 1996. In 1998, he ported it to GNU/Linux at a time where no interactive geometry software existed on this system. It latter became officially a GNU application blessed by Richard Stallman. In the spirit of free software and access to source code, Dr. Geo integrated scripting and programmed figure as well as code introspection from the application itself in an interactive programming environment. Hilaire currently teaches in a junior high school in Geneva where he uses Dr. Geo to teach mathematics (geometry) and basic programming. This will be an online meeting from home.
