Hi - I don't think I'll be changing the settings for format as you read wrapping line number or reading the cursor position/line number ever. Is there a way to remove that section from the nautilus code pane? Thanks Paul

I've mostly use bare filetree (so not to install anything), and sometimes GitFileTree (eliminates a few steps), but I see there's a lot of activity in other projects. Is anything production-ready? Hi I'm writing a simple converter between Celcius and Farhenheit as an example to start programming. Converter >> convertFarhenheit: anInteger ^ ((anInteger - 32) / 1.8) ConverterTest >> testFToC | converter | converter := TemperatureConverter new. self assert: ((converter convertFarhenheit: 86) = 30.0). self assert: ((converter convertFarhenheit: 50) = 10). self assert: ((converter convertFarhenheit: 52) = 11.11111111111111) My problem is with ((converter convertFarhenheit: 52) = 11.11111111111111) I do not want to have such ugly test. I tried either to control the output Converter >> convertFarhenheit: anInteger ^ ((anInteger - 32) / 1.8) roundDownTo: 0.1 Not a good idea Or to compare with closeTo: self assert: ((converter convertFarhenheit: 52) closeTo: 11.11) does not work because we cannot set the precision. So at ESUG I briefly discuss that with Nicolas Cellier and I need help. Should I introduce in pharo closeTo:interval: Any suggestions that a newby can understand is welcome. Stef

No right-button menu in Inspector on a ByteString

Hello I have an Inspector on n a ByteString open and would like to copy out the string into the clipboard. I can select the text but there is no right-mouse button menu to copy it. ALT-C just replaces the text with a c CTRL-C the same. I am using Pharo 5.0 on Linux Mint. In the preferences I found nothing how to activate a right mouse button menu nor something about activating an edit menu. What am I missing? Kind regards Hannes

Network System Settings

Using Pharo 5.0 with default image. I tried configuring proxy settings(to access monticello repositories). As part of this (via both Welcome window -> settings browser and Systems -> Settings) . selected Use HTTP Proxy . Changed port no. . Set the proxy server name . Added exception patterns Then . Clicked on Store settings. get a pop up informing the the settings have been stored to disk. At this point the text input fields still have yellow highlight showing it has not been saved. Now I try to open a repository. This fails saying the connection to 0.0.0.0:80 has timed out. Which means both the server name and port are not being used. How can i fix this ? Spec / GT Inspector integration

If I have a CompositeModel which I want to display as a tab in a GT Inspector, what should the inspector method look like? (I haven't been able to find any examples in the image or on the web) I assume it should be something like: gtInspectEditIn: composite <gtInspectorPresentationOrder: 50> ^ composite spec title: 'Edit'; display: [ :anObject | MyCompositeModelEditor on: anObject ]. But it isn't clear to me what the display block should be returning. I can successfully open the window using: MyCompositeModelEditor new editObject: anObject; openWithSpec. Thanks, Alistair

UFFI const, unsigned, opaque-ish types

For this definition pulled from a library header file... typedef struct { const void *data; unsigned private_flags; } CXString; which is used with a helper function to get a usable string like... void show_clang_version(void) { CXString version = clang_getClangVersion(); printf("%s\n", clang_getCString(version)); clang_disposeString(version); } ==> 'Debian clang version 3.5.0-10 (tags/RELEASE_350/final) (based on LLVM 3.5.0)' So I defined... FFIExternalStructure subclass: #CXString instanceVariableNames: '' classVariableNames: '' package: 'LibCLang' and ignoring the const as advised in the manual [1], I try... CXString class >> fieldsDesc ^ #( void *data; unsigned private_flags; ) but... CXString rebuildFieldAccessors. ==>Error: Unable to resolve external type: unsigned I also tried "unsigned int private_flags;" but get the same error. Any ideas what is wrong? Actually I can kind of ignore creating accessors since this is like an opaque type where I'm not expected to access its internals, but I do need CXString as a return value like this... LibCLang class >> getClangVersion ^ self ffiCall: #( CXString clang_getClangVersion () ) module: LibCLang which needs to be passed to this function to get a workable string.... LibCLang class >> getString: aCXString ^ self ffiCall: #( String clang_getCString ( CXString aCXString ) ) module: LibCLang However this doesn't work if I use FFIOpaqueObject instead of FFIExternalStructure. I guess the difference is opaque objects are normally pointers to a type, whereas here that pointer is contained in a struct. What I've done at the moment to push ahead with experimenting is avoid needing to generate accessors by adding... Hello, I used some method of RAEscapingSqlPrinter to escape the quotes. And it is working nicely now. I added the escaping method in Garage: String >> asPostgresEscapedSql You have to call it on the "unsafe strings" before executing the query (prepared statement or not). Thanks Pierce!
