How to listen for source code change in the image ?

Hi, where should i look at if i want a class of mine to be notified of any source code change in the image ? Specifically i want to know if anything changed about a method (or its ast method node), anything that could happen like a refactoring operation or a source code change. Steven.

How to detect encoding of a file

Hello, We have a problem using Moose because we have files which we don't know the encoding. Currently we have this implementation to get the content of a file: completeText self fileReference exists ifFalse: [ ^ '' ]. ^ self fileReference readStreamDo: [ :s | [ s contents ] on: Error do: [ [ s converter: Latin1TextConverter new; contents ] on: Error do: [ '' ] ] ] But, we have a problem because we have currently some files at Synectique in ISO-8859-1. The problem is that #contents is able to read some of the files without throwing an error, but the content is not right because it is not the good encoding. Thus I wonder if it is possible to get the Encoding of a FileReference in Pharo to be able to read the file with the right encoding? Hi, feenk.com is proud to announce gt4gemstone, a version of the Glamorous Toolkit aimed at supporting remote development with GemStone/S from Pharo. gt4gemstone is released as an open-source project under the MIT license and was built primarily by Andrei Chis with some marginal contributions from me. The project is hosted at: https://github.com/feenkcom/gt4gemstone The toolkit currently offers several features: â¢ Remote Playground â¢ Remote Inspector with extensions that can be coded exactly like the ones in Pharo â¢ Remote Debugger with mixed stacks (Pharo and GemStone) â¢ Basic Remote Code Browser â¢ Remote Session Handler â¢ Integration with Roassal â¢ A Glamour-specific proxy model for efficient serialization of Glamour presentations â¢ A basic proxy model for working with any remote objects from GemStone One particular aspect that we focused on is performance. So much so, that at one point inspecting objects in gt4gemstone was faster than doing them locally. In the meantime, the GT inspector from Pharo also received an upgrade. But, perhaps the most exciting thing about this project is that most extensions of the inspector can be expressed exactly in the same way both in Pharo and in GemStone, and this makes the scenario of building in Pharo and deploying in GemStone even more appealing. Voyage - collecting data from Mongo

Meaning that I do not have a class in Pharo that would correspond to said collection (should I implement one?). Hi, We are happy to announce a new application called Pharo Sprint App. The main idea of the application comes from the whiteboard that have been used during Pharo Sprints and was also adopted in Chile. As the Pharo Sprint is organized in several places around the world, we miss the connection with other guys. For that reason we decided to move the physical whiteboard to the internet and developed Pharo Sprint App. How does it work? Participants choose a case from the âproposed' or âallâ list. Once they are done, they move it to the âdoneâ list. We believe that the application will encourage other people, especially newcomers, to join us during the events and have a fun, together with other developers. improving audio/video quality of pharo days recordings

Hi, we had a small discussion on discord about improving the audio/video quality of recordings of past pharo days, where many recordings are really hard to see (or completely unreadable), or the presenter is really hard to understand (especially if they speak quietly or have a strong accent). Obviously making really good recordings requires several people to focus on it (which is hard on a small meetup), however two things could be imho introduced that could help a lot, with little demand on attendees. 1) clip-on microphone * camera's mic will not capture good sound from 10 meters away over a crowd of people making noises 2) VGA recorder (which goes between the presenter's computer and projector) * then we would have crisp video and not relying on the quality of the camera in fact this is very common format where in the final video you see primarily the VGA output, and not camera capture from a distance (only on the presenter), e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA2WjJbmmoM Unfortunately I am not attending Pharo Days this year (scheduling conflict), so I can't help on-site, but I could help with post-processing where possible, e.g. converting the raw audio/video/VGA streams into one (as in the linked video) or something.
