reloading ffi library

Hi, noob question: i installed bloc and tried to run examples. It worked well on Fedora 27 but not on latest Debian 64 bits because the path of libcairo.so.2 was wrong. So i fixed it in the code, but when trying the bloc examples again the lib path is still wrong (in the debugger). Is there a way to reload the cairo lib or to reset it, so that the path would be right and it would find the lib ? Steven.

These days, Pharo-the-IDE is enough different that those books don't help as much as they did when I met Squeak. (For that matter, I am still fairly helpless with VisualAge Smalltalk because of differences in the UI.) Come to think of it, lesson 1 ought to be "how to shut Pharo down". It's the first thing I look for in any programming environment these days.

Calypso bugs with metalinks in latest 7

Hi, running Reflectivity tests (e.g. ReflectivityReificationTest) provokes errors and tests fails: RGMethodDefinition did not understand #isDeprecated. Seems to be located in MetaLinkChanged calypso extension (the 4 methods provoke the same bug). To reproduce it i used the launcher to get the latest pharo 7 and the script from here to get Calypso https://github.com/dionisiydk/Calypso Also, is it possible to switch off ClyCriticsAnalysis ? I have problems while experimenting with instance-specific metalinks, and i cannot yet describe exactly how to reproduce it. I'd like to disable it until i can fix bugs in my own work before reactivating it... Steven.

btw, SegmentIO seems quite impressive aggregating a huge number of services. Reporting Pharo issues without FogBugz account

Hi, FogBugz started to provide an option to report issues without need of FogBugz account. Just go to https://pharo.fogbugz.com/ and click on the button "New case". dependent magritte descriptions

Hi, I'm trying to get dependent magritte descriptions, but it seems like this is not something that can be done in the descriptions: Imagine a class Contact with "city" and "country" descriptions. I would like to populate the city description based on the currently selected country ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ descriptionCountry <magritteDescription> ^ MASingleOptionDescription new accessor: #country; label: 'Country'; options: self countries; yourself descriptionCity <magritteDescription> ^ MASingleOptionDescription new accessor: #city; label: 'City'; options: (self citiesInCountry: self country); yourself ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The problem with this approach is that both descriptions are in the same form, so I need to update the cities list even before the country is saved back into the object. PharoThings - Metacello installation broken

Hi, I'm just trying https://github.com/pharo-iot/PharoThings. But if installing the client side as suggested below. Install the client part of PharoThings in the development (client) Pharo image: Metacello new baseline: 'PharoThings'; repository: 'github://pharo-iot/PharoThings/src'; load: 'RemoteDev' After some loading I get the Metacello message github--pharoiotFirmatav01x157812618139788200831786773995104653406.zip does not exist. Anyone dealt with SignalR before, can comment on implications for access from Pharo?
