A little newbie question

Hi all, i'm looking in pharo and smalltalk for the first time, and also i'm not a programmer but only a people who like to know, then apologies in advance. I have Pharo on Ubuntu, and i was using the PharoByExample image. Trying the example (FMSound lowMajorScaleOn: FMSound clarinet) play. All go well, but only the first time i use the image. If i close pharo and i save the changes (only a workspace with that line) the next time i start pharo i have no sound. No errors, but no more sound. Could, please, someone explain what happens? [ANN] Pharo 1.1.1 OneClickCogVm

Hi. This is not an official release. I didn't do all the formal procedure for releasing a Pharo image. My idea is try to push CogVM and try to get as much as testers as possible. Try to report issues and help Eliot. For that purpose, I think having a one click image is worth it. So.....I build a Pharo dev on top of the PharoCore 1.1.1 (which has some fixes over 1.1 and the CogVM necessary changes). I build the image with exactly the same versions of the external packages than Pharo 1.1. If you want to download that this Pharo1.1.1 dev image that works with Cog here is the link: https://gforge.inria.fr/frs/download.php/27516/Pharo-1.1.1-dev10.09.1.zip In addition, and thanks to Lukas, we could generate OneClicks with CogVM. Here you can have a OneClick using the above image: https://gforge.inria.fr/frs/download.php/27524/Pharo-1.1.1-OneClickCogVM.zip Notice that this is not an official release and that there are failing/errors tests. I've already sent emails for them and hopefully someone may fix them. The only thing is not supported is the TestCoverage (since it uses objects as methods, with is not yet supported in CogVM). Updated Metacello Configurations of OmniBrowser, RefactoringBrowser, OCompletion

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I have updated those configurations to work in Pharo 1.1 with their latest versions. All tests are green ConfigurationOfOmniBrowser -> 1.2 ConfigurationOfRefactoringBrowser -> 1.6 ConfigurationOfOCompletion -> 1.2 Now the problem is that I don't know why OCompletion is not working with OB, even when all tests are green :( If someone can help please. If you want to try: (ConfigurationOfOmniBrowser project version: '1.1-baseline') load works in pharo 1.1 (provided you have ConfigurationOfOmniBrowser from Lukas's source, which should be the case). Love it already! Creating ArrayedCollections

I'm subclassing ArrayedCollection while coding the examples from A Mentoring Course in Smalltalk, but I can't figure out how to create one! ClassBasedCharacterArray is a subclass of ArrayedCollection ClassBasedCharacterArray newFrom: 'a string' -> error: ClassBasedCharacterArray cannot have variable sized instances. Huh? Behavior class>>new: calls Behavior class>>basicNew: which calls Behavior class>>isVariable which returns false. How does string get around this to create instances? I DebugIt-ed 'a string', but couldn't follow it in the debugger for some reason. Thanks.
