I have a self-funded hobby project (unrelated to any employer or company) that involves porting some Python code to Pharo. The initial task involves porting about 100 classes with 600 methods and writing tests for each of them and Iâve budgeted US$1200. I realize that this isnât a big job or much money, and Iâm mostly curious to find out whether anyone with the needed skills is interested. Code not showing all items in directory

Hi there. I am a long time user of VAST recently moved to Pharo. I have a directory that contains 20 JSON items. I am using the following code to load all of them into a collection. bucketList | top fileDirectory bucketList nameList | top := FileSystem disk workingDirectory. fileDirectory := top / 'TinyKVDB' / self bucket. bucketList := fileDirectory children. nameList := SortedCollection new. bucketList do: [ :each | nameList add: each asString ] . ^ nameList The code is only loading 18 of the items in the directory. I cannot see that there is anything different between there 18 and the other 2. Can anyone give me some clues here? David TotallyObjects

Simple statistics package?

Hi, I need to perform simple statistical analysis over a small set of objects (~10-1000 max), basic stuff like getting the quartiles, mean, average of a certain set and perform moving averages. I'm looking for something where I can pass a collection of objects of my domain, an accessor and get the values mentioned above. I know there is PolyMath, but it seems to be oriented towards heavy number crunching and mathematical abstractions as its input. E.g. The PMHistogram works on pure numbers, so once I build it, I cannot know which of my objects fall into what group of the histogram. Does such a thing exist? Regards! Esteban A. Maringolo

Error in Pharo 9 under Windows 10

Hi, Every time I try to start a Pharo 9 image I get an error. This happens with both 32 and 64 bit versions, under Windows 10. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Pharo Launcher without avail. This has been happening for the last 10 days. I don't know if this is the proper place to post this...if not please let me know. Strings in Playground are read only in Pharo 9

Hi all, strings in Playground are read only in Pharo 9.0 Build 1153 so that 'hello' at: 2 put: $a; yourself ctrl+p This throws an error: âModification forbidden: âhelloâ is read-only, hence its field cannot be modified with $a which is actually a very nice error message but is this supposed to happen? The example does work in Pharo 8 without problems. Greetings Markus
