Is there documentation for Moose DSMMatrix visualization?

I started to play with Moose DSMMatrix visualization. I tried to do something like "This matrix diagram visualizes character co-occurrences in Victor Hugoâs Les MisÃ©rables." by Mike Bostock: Les MisÃ©rables Co-occurrence <http://bost.ocks.org/mike/miserables/> I got to this in some minutes: <http://forum.world.st/file/n4703749/LesMiserables.png> But now i am looking for documentation (labelling, coloring, etc. ) or other examples. Voyage: Circular references

Hi! I'm having an issue I don't recall having had about half a year ago when trying out Voyage. In my schema, a *User* has an *instVar* referencing all the *Center*s he belongs to, and a *Center* has an *instVar* referencing all of its *User*s, so when the Voyage serializer tries to serialize a user (or a center), it goes into an infinite loop trying to find the end of the reference chain and the image clogs. I remember saving the exact same schema a while ago without a problem, is there something new I should know about? BTW, I'm using the #bleedingEdge version, with Magritte3 and all. Voyage: save Date, get back DateAndTime - bug?

Hi Esteban, All, when saving an instance of *Date* within an attribute with voyage into Mongo and doing VOMongoRepository allInstancesDo: #reset. then loading the object back from database, I get an inst of *DateAndTime* in this attribute. Of course, I can "hack" by the tools you gave me :-) it but I ask myself if this is a bug or by intent. Voyage: proxy/memory questions

Hi Esteban, All, could you please give me some little explanations about the mechanism between the database and the objects in my image: 1) I see that after VOMongoRepository allInstancesDo: #reset. all objects are re-loaded from mongo, is this correct? 2) How can I ask voyage to only re-load a certain object from Database and not all objects 3) How can I ask voyage to only re-load all objects from a certain class 4) what about the image size and the memory? When are the loaded instances thrown away? Is this done automatically? Do I have to do something for this? How to avoid my image getting bigger and bigger? I ask because since working with voyage, I had several times an image which became slower and slower and at the end freezed. I assume that I make something wrong here. And, as a last point, after VOMongoRepository allInstancesDo: #reset. saving an Instance from inspector (or from my application) which was opened before the #reset will be saved as a new object in mongo. So it duplicates the objects in the database. Is this ok? Databases for Pharo that do not use FFI

Hello I have been tinkering with Pharo long enough now to contemplate writing a "serious" applications with it. An important consideration is databases. I have been looking at SQLite but realise since it works through FFI it probably blocks the VM whilst processing a query. Is this correct? VoyageMongo looks interesting. PostgreSQL is supported too. Do either of these work through FFI? Many thanks in advance.

Git filetree workflow

I work on a project that uses smalltalk as a part of a larger system. We version control most of the code (Objective-C, mainly) using Git. Currently the repo has a build script under version control which specifies the monticello package versions to fetch for a given commit. This works okay, and keeps everything in step, but the change histories are in two places (Git and monticello) which is undesirable, and branching/merging is difficult. I'm looking at using filetree (https://github.com/dalehenrich/filetree) to store the smalltalk source in the git repo. I was wondering what the workflow is within the image. Is there an easy way to keep the code on the filesystem in sync with the code in the image? At the moment it seems that there will be a lot of loading/saving in the monticello browser whenever I change code either using git or within the image. Hi I merged Jannik clean and I commited a new version of the configuration. Now it works on Pharo 20 and also on Pharo 30 And I will produce a new System-Sound for the kernel based on Pavel work and I will produce a new configuration. Stef

Pharo FFI Error: "Could not coerce arguments"

Hello When trying out the FFI-Unix-Examples (X11Display class > #coloredEllipses or #coloredRectangels) I get the error: "Could not coerce arguments". When trying x11Draw I get a MNU: receiver of "display" is nil. I am running Pharo2 on NetBSD 6.1. I know this is not the usual Linux/MacOS/Windows, but everything else works fine, except for FFI. I am thinking I am quite close to getting FFI to work, just the from of the pragma that is wrong. Any help is much appreciated.

The pharo image installed by curl get.pharo.org/20+vm | bash currently is an image without the --no-quit option Stephan
