Hi, I think I've discovered an problem in the following class>>method but still considering myself somewhat of a newbie, I'm not entirely sure: GRPharoPlatform>>isIpAddress: aString | ip | ip := aString findTokens: '.'. ^ ip size = 4 and: [ ip allSatisfy: [ :each | each greaseInteger notNil and: [ each greaseInteger notNil between: 0 and: 255] ] ] The problem is the last line "each greaseInteger notNil between: 0 and: 255"... where the notNil message returns a true or false, and it does not respond to "between:and:". I believe the fix ought to be to remove the "notNil" in the last line to result in the line: "each greaseInteger between: 0 and: 255" since the "notNil" is already considered before the "and:". String to number conversion issues

Hi, I need to convert web input (Strings) to decimal numbers. I have a regex that will recognize numeric strings, but not all of them can be converted to a number with asNumber. For example, anything with a leading $+ fails, as does anything beginning with '.' (even though .3 isNumber answers true.) or '-.' Is there any code for dealing with this kind of thing (ie a method to be called before calling asNumber or a more robust library for string conversions? Given that all web input is strings and a lot of it is decimal numbers, i have to believe there is code somewhere that does this safely, maybe even with tests. :) Thanks.

New version of Little Number Chapter

Hi guys I took into account the remarks of mariano and I imagine that the chapter improved. It can be obvious for some people but I like to make sure that we all find this obvious. Because it is not difficult once you spend a little time on it. Now if somebody wants to extend and improve, he/she welcome. I will continue to work on the others chapters. Stef A guy that truly believe that software is only done when the documentation is packed too.

I was looking for a Cog VM with plugins and the information on the website is not very clear about the best way to get one. First, on the download page there is still a link to the old CI server (or is it still used?) http://www.pharo-project.org/pharo-download Second, the link for the Cog VMs points to http://www.mirandabanda.org/files/Cog/VM/ Unfortunately, these VMs come with no plugin. State of art for testing tools in Pharo?

I would like to know what's the state of the art when it comes to tests in Pharo. What are the habits? The best practices? Is there any ongoing development? I stumble upon that this morning (through twitter) http://www.lshift.net/blog/2011/09/13/checking-squeak-quickly Especially, I am interested in the following topics: - any framework to perform BDD? What's the status of SSpec? I also saw that Sean was starting to play with Cucumber, I would be very interested to see that - developing a Seaside app in TDD/BDD mode? Is there a tutorial out there about that? Simple math editor/typesetter

Hi I'm working with some simple math equations and am looking for a nicer way to display them. Is there any existing work that I might be able to re-use/build upon? For instance, given this equation, (1+2/3)*4 I would like to see it displayed like the Equation Editor in Microsoft Word or the equations in a Mathematica notebook. And I'd guess that it's not a Fuel issue but a SandstoneDB issue because I get the same error if, when using the same image, in a workspace I change the SDSerializer to the SDSmartRefStreamSerializer and try again.

Hi - I'm attempting to use Sandstone and ran into the error in the subject line on the initial save. I found this discussion: http://forum.world.st/Contexts-must-only-be-created-with-newForMethod-td371… But don't know how to adapt it to 'fix' my error. Should I just overwrite #basicNew: in my image? I'm attempting to use the Fuel serializer and I loaded Fuel from the metacello config. Thanks Paul

What happened to the Soft Squeak theme in 1.3?

Hi, Just wondering what happened to the Soft Squeak theme in Pharo 1.3? That was my favourite theme to use (sentimental I guess). Is there any reason to remove themes between releases? I can understand enhancing and adding themes but I don't see any reason to remove them (space considerations maybe?). I know, this seems picky, but one gets used to a certain theme. Is there a way to modify individual settings to get a semblance of the theme back? Or am I just out of luck? Thanks for any advice, Stephen.
