DateAndTime and nanos

I'm trying to find out how to get a date in iso8601 and a precision more fine grained than seconds. But looking at the time based classes I didn't find anything useful. The nanos value seems to be also zero. And the milliSecondClock seems only be useful to measure durations. What can I use to get this achieved? Norbert

Hello guys, I want to write a little script that collect all the name of files in a folder then parse the name to change some characters and finally print the list. Quite simple :) But Stef tells me that it the perfect thing that should be done with Coral :) Do you know a good place to find lectures/tuto about Coral ? Thanks in advance, Ben

Hi, similarly to the example in http://book.pharo-project.org i do this: win := StandardWindow new. panel:=win newRow: {win newOKButton. } . y :=(panel minExtent y). win addMorph: panel fullFrame: (LayoutFrame fractions: (0@1 corner: 1@1) offsets: (0@(0-y) corner: 0@0)). win openInWorld . but the okbutton is not completely visible. how do i calc y correctly? werner

Dear Smalltalkers, On the sunny side of the Alps we have a spring already, so let me bring a bit spring to you too with this new Aida release :) Fresh features from last month: - new event framework - unified JSON messaging (over WebSocket, Ajax, Comet) - pure JavaScript for Ajax, Prototype loaded only on demand - image based persistence - snapshot every hour - view active/logged sessions in Security - whitelisted IPs in Security - red 'browser not supported' warning on top of page And to repeat new features from Christmas beta: *Mobile* devices like smartpone and tablet support, with mobile device detection and special mobile CSS as addition to screen CSS, so that you can easily adapt your existing apps to mobile simply by overriding the existing CSS. *HTML5* support: Aida switches now to HTML5 by default and HTML5 specific features will be gradually added, WebSocket is there already, local storage and offline support comes next. *WebSocket* support for bidirectional communication between server and browser, as a replacement for Comet. windows/flaps not responding

Hi all, I'm currently teaching smalltalk with pharo1.1 on Linux to pupils (10th grade). Some of them are experiencing the following problem: After reopening their pharo-image none of the windows left open before nor the window-flap at the bottom are responsive to mouse-clicks. Wherever you're clicking on, the world-menu shows up. You can open new system windows though. These will behave nicely. Is there any way to reactivate the old system-windows and the flap? Unfortunately I discarded the buggy images. Essentially the pupils had been reading ProfStef-Tutorials and some workspaces and browsers opened. Markus

JNIPort 2.0 for VisualWorks, Pharo and Squeak is now available! JNIPort is a Smalltalk library which allows Java code to be invoked from Smalltalk. It acts as a bridge between the world of Smalltalk objects and a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) where Java code is executing. For more information see http://jniport.wikispaces.com JNIPort 2.0 for VisualWorks can be loaded from the Cincom Public Store Repository and from the JNIPort wiki at http://jniport.wikispaces.com/Downloads JNIPort 2.0 for Pharo and Squeak is available from SqueakSource at http://www.squeaksource.com/JNIPort.html and from the JNIPort wiki. The changes from JNIPort 1.9 are: - JNIPort can now be used in Pharo and Squeak. - Packages have been renamed such that the can be shared between Store and Monticello. - Platform specific code has been moved to separate packages to make the core packages portable between VisualWorks, Pharo, and Squeak. - The much-critized _null postfix used for selectors of wrapper methods which don't have arguments is gone. - A few bugs have been fixed. Installation instructions for VisualWorks are on the JNIPort wiki, instructions for Pharo and Squeak are on the wiki of the JNIPort project page of SqueakSource. I strongly encourage you to read the instructions before installing and using JNIPort. JNIPort 2.0 has been tested with: - VisualWorks from 7.5 to 7.8 (trent dec10.3) on Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Windows XP SP 3 - VisualWorks from 7.7 to 7.8 (trent dec10.3) on Ubuntu 10.04 (64bit) with both the 32-bit and the 64-bit VisualWorks VMs - Squeak 4.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Windows XP SP 3 - Pharo 1.1.1 and 1.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Windows XP SP 3 Known issues: - In Pharo 1.1.1, you may encounter an error when JNIPort tries to register a new Java object in an internal weak dictionary. This is a bug in Pharo's implementation of this collection class. I can't do anything about it. If you can't live with it, please upgrade to Pharo 1.2. - JNIPort for Pharo and Squeak currently cannot be used with the Cog VM. - Callbacks from foreign operating system threads cannot be used in Pharo and Squeak. The Alien foreign function interface does not yet support this feature. When you run the unit tests, three tests will fail because of this restriction.
