PetitParser map

Hi, I work a lot with PetitParser in Pharo 5 and fail to display the parser map in PPBrowser. The config is Pharo 5Â with - PetitParser (JanKurs.278) and - Roassal2 (AlexandreBergel.1638) as installed from the Pharo Project Catalog A first problem, occuring on selection of a Parser in PPBrowser was fixed easily: GLMCompositePresentation>>smalltalkCodeÂ Â -> >>pharoMethod But I am lost to fix the second problem on displaying the parser map in PPBRowser. Hopefully someone who is a regular OSX user can comment on whether they've seen similar behaviour. I haven't seen this on linux. One thing to try is the equivalent of (on linux): kill -USR1 <pharo pid> That will ask the VM to dump it's current state to stdout / stderr (I forget which). Maybe try it while the system is responding so you can see the sort of information that is provided, and then when you get the spinning beach ball. HTH, Alistair

Periodic long GC's when just coding in newer Pharo 7's?

I thought I would mention this as its something Iâve only just started to noticeâ¦ when doing some brief coding sessions (as in, each day I unsuspend my laptop and code for 30-40 minutes - to write some missing tests) - I have started to notice I get a spinning beach ball in Pharo for 15+ seconds and then it recovers. Itâs usually once each day, and it does recover. It feels like its deciding to do a GC - but Iâm not sure how to tell. It could be nothing - but its not something Iâve noticed in Pharo 6.1 and seems unique to Pharo 7 (which Iâve started to try using more recently). Its just happened now in build 1167 64bit on OSX (I believe I have the newer vm - as I had to re-download them for pharo-launcher). Tim

Hi all, Nope, I'm not maintaining my package. I was experimenting with it at some point (2 years ago?) and then saw somebody else started with a more complete solution so I've not continued working on it. Personally, I've experienced the same sandboxing problems stated by Alistair, plus the fact that at that moment Snap was not working in *nixes other than Ubuntu made me put my energy somewhere else. Three points more: - for those that do not know exactly what we are talking about, snap is "new" a packaging tool used in ubuntu. I strongly believe that we could use some kind of tool like this for the VM, but not for image (which are mutable). - it could maybe make more sense to package the pharo launcher? ;) - rather than snaps, I'd put my 2cents on a solution like https://github.com/probonopd/appimagekit/. I've been following it for two years and it has a lot of movement and getting mature.
