VoyageMongo questions

Has anyone tried to use VoyageMongo to connect to a MongoDB instance not on the local machine? I used the VoyageMongo from Smalltalkhub like the "Persisting Objects with Voyage" said and it looks like I had the same problem that Sabine mentioned on Discord; "Not enough space for external objects, set a larger size at startup", but there was a (another) problem and the image was toasted. I then tried to load VoyageMongo into Pharo 5 from the Catalog Browser and there's an error and it won't load. Any hints on what I'm doing wrong? I'm using Pharo5.0 Latest update: #50761.

Because all 16 elements of the first/top ordered collection contain the exact same element. They are all #==, the same instance/object. If you change one, you change them all. Implement Matrix whith OrderedCollection

Hi everyone, I'm figuring out a strange behavoir with OrderedCollection. Actually I've created a matrix using OrderedCollection like this: /c := OrderedCollection new: 16 withAll: (OrderedCollection new: 16 withAll: 0). c./ But when I try to set the value at row 1 and column 2 to be 50 like this: /(c at: 1) at: 2 put: 50/ I instead get 50 in any cell of the second column and I don't know why. When using a Matrix and the massage at:at:put, the behavoir is normal. However, Process is a Pharo user level class, not something private to the implementation of the vm. Any programmer should know what to expect and what to not expect when different Processes are started, and how they behave and interact. It's part of the general knowledge of the Smalltalk programming model, on par with Object, Class and Behavior. So, before I switch to the pharo-dev list, let's wait and see... BTW, it seems that reference [1], containing the charts you mention, could not find its way in your reply. Can you please make it available? Greetings Raffaelo

Happy to help. I got this information from Udo Schneider in slack several weeks ago. ProcessScheduler doesn't have much to do with context switching, except providing the #yield primitive for a user to invoke manually. As you noted, the actual context switching happens in the VM. The charts here [1] might be useful to get an overview of the execution loop. Keep in mind though Its a very rough view of a novice exploring the Cog execution engine and may not be entirely accurate. But it will give you a starting point.
