Pharo at the free software event at Lyon

Hello, The 4 & 5 of April there is the free software event at Lyon[1]. I am planing for a DrGeo presentation. It will be cool to present Pharo too. The thematic of this event is "pragmatic and accessible Utopia"[2], and we know Pharo is a pretty good match thanks to its ease of learning from running code and modification capabilities. [ANN] Round 2 Results Are In

https://youtu.be/B2pNMKuuyKw Watch the robot 'A' as it manoeuvres around the board following the team's prescribed strategy. The robot consumes the energy value of each cell it enters. The cells in blue have *negative *energy values! The object is to maximize the score. The winning team comes from Nepean High School in Ottawa, Canada. Next week's round, Round 3, is particularly interesting. The board will contain Death cells (if the robot enters one, it dies and the simulation is terminated), Jump cells (where it jumps ahead n cells in the direction it's moving), and Warp cells (where the robot "warps" to another location on the board). The Round 3 map I've created for the board is particularly challenging. I can hardly wait for that round! Richard

(2) Forget about the square root. (3) Note the repetitive pattern. So scoreX: x y: y | distanceSquared | distanceSquared := x squared + y squared. #((100 0) (25 1) (1 5)) do: [:each | distanceSquared > each first ifTrue: [^each last]]. ^10 But I'd say that apart from the argument names and pointless square root, your original code is about as clear as it gets. The "ifs stink" dogma is about *type* testing, not *range* testing, and this is range testing. It is also a tiny piece of code which can only be made *less* readable by trying to avoid the ifs. Remember the slogan YAGNI? You Ain't Gonna Need it? The time to go for a more elaborate solution is when you HAVE to. Do The Simplest Thing That Could Possibly Work. Developing on Mac Catalina 10.15

Hi. The Pharo application I developed is offered to users in Windows, Linux and macOS based on the three VMs available on the Pharo website.I basically download the VM, add my image and some resources, rename stuff and put a nice icon, and it's ready to be deployed.Now, since mac updated their users to Catalina (10.15), I've noticed that my application won't work anymore, and it seems to be related to the signature required by Apple. If I download the Pharo VM fromÂ https://files.pharo.org/get-files/80/pharo64-mac-stable.zipand run it, it works. If I open the package contents and add stuff inside the /Resources directory, the application seems to still be working (with those minor changes it would even still just open Pharo and not my app).BUT if I upload it to my Google Drive, and then download it, it no longer works, stating that it's broken and must be moved to the trash. If instead of adding stuff inside I just rename it and change its icon, I can upload and download it and it opens Pharo normally. So I'm guessing, since the _CodeSignature directory was not present in older Pharo Mac VMs, that someone knows how to work with those signatures, and that it must be the key that's missing to make it work. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any tutorial, mail discussion, or whatever that might tell me how they made it work for Pharo might help me make the changes I need to the .app and get my product working. Thanks!

Mean time, you can report the Google Drive ZIP files for abuse to Google. I have not downloaded it, because I think there is something suspicious about it. Has anyone else any suspicions? Has someone hacked into my e-mail, or is it this list that has been hacked?
