[ANN] JRMPC 2020 Awards Ceremony

Here it is, finally! https://smalltalk.tech.blog/2020/05/30/jrmpc-2020-awards-ceremony/ It's a nice coincidink that the launch of the awards ceremony occurred on the same day as the historic SpaceX Crew Dragon launch. https://www.space.com/elon-musk-emotional-spacex-astronaut-launch.html I share Elon Musk's elation. Anyway, I am so relieved it's over. I have never worked so hard on anything in my entire life! This marks the official end of my Smalltalk campaign. Later in the year, I may publish an online Pharo tutorial video series, and next year, I shall see if my Camp Smalltalk Supreme idea to celebrate Smalltalk's 50th birthday has any legs, but beyond that, I am done with Smalltalk. Long Live Smalltalk!

Pharo 9 64 + windows 10

Hello, I tried to download Pharo 9 64bits and load latest repository on it. After loading, Iceberg says I have changes made to pharo (???) [image: image.png] But I changed nothing, I just loaded the pharo 9latest code on it using iceberg. I already tried to recalculate dirty packages. What is happening? How do I revert changes so that my image is the same as the repo? Regards, Vitor.

Hi Paul I do not know. This is the first time I hear that epicea blocks. If you close your image and goes to changes you will be able to reopen epicea and check your code. At start up epicea just check if there was a new session but besides that there is nothing different than opening it. Yes, let us coordinate what to respond. To me this doesn't even sound like Ron. Usually he is a rather quite and reasonable guy. Seems to be a lot of misunderstandings here (again). As I was the one copying the Cryptography package to github it concerns me a bit. I've been remembered now about yet another strange law suit in the US and indeed we need to raise a bit of awareness for this. So let's figure out what has to be done. Pharo 8. Epicea seems to be turned off. how do I get it working again?

Hi- I had an image lock up so I "Force quit" it from the apple menu. When I check "Code Changes" its most recent changes are from 9 days ago. My most recent save was a few hours ago & I was able to restore the missing code between the save & now by dropping the changes file in the image. How do I double check and get epicea running again in this image? Thanks

I not really happy to be forced to do it on a sunny saturday but Iâm doing it to clarify points. Esteban sent me this text that was posted on Squeak-Dev (I personally do not read squeak related forums because I have not the time and my focus is Pharo, its consortium, my team, my research and my family). We have to react because - We do not really at ***all** understand this email - We did not kicked anybody from our mailing-list from ages - so ron is lying. In the past we even had discussion with ron - so we do not really understand. May be we got problem to log on our mailing-lists. We have no idea because we are working and not looking at such things. - When we migrated smalltalkhub to readonly we payed attention to make sure that private projects stay private. Hi Mark, Something you may want to consider in the future is to use Docker. You can easily deploy Docker images with Pharo and you can also use `docker-machine` to create and manage your AWS EC2 instances.
