Class definition changes in change log

Hi All, Trying to recover lost changes from another (broken) image I noticed that only method definition and do-it are saved. I'm in a middle of a refactoring where I changed hierarchies, renamed classes and inst vars. When trying to recover the changes, class name changes are not there, so most of the method changes are not applicable. I don't know if I am missing something important regarding how to recover changes. I just dragged the old changes file onto my new image and then browse the changes (where I can only see methods and do-its) As a work around I manually did all the class definition changes (superclass, class name, inst var names), and re run all the changes from the "Recent Changes" window. As a result I recovered most of the work of the last night :) (but I lost some time trying to figure out the problem) Is it OK that my changes file has not class definition changes? Am I missing sth? This is the expected behavior when recovering the changes from another image? thanks best regards arturo

Hello, Actually slots are introduced so we can use them the next Pharo iteration (Pharo 4). It is difficult to use as it is, you need to change a bit the compiler so that it asks the class slots for field access byte code generation (a field being typically an instance variable) and you also need to improve the class builder in a way that you would have a class template where you can set specific slot for each field. Then you can subclass slots and use them. So I'd say there's a few work to do to use them, but if someone do this work, it will be integrated for Pharo 4. The mouse wheel event is not really good and we planned to addressed it but the planned and allocated resources left and we lost the money. So we will have to schedule it again. Scroll wheel handling in Pharo 3.0

I have a puzzle in using the scroll wheel in Pharo 3.0. Lately I have been playing with Moose 4.8, which I think is Pharo 2.0 plus some extras, and with a fresh download of Pharo 3.0. In the Moose image, if I open a system browser, for example, I find that the scroll wheel will scroll whichever pane the cursor is in. In Pharo 3.0, it is necessary to make a pane active, by clicking in it, before it can be scrolled. I find the first possibility more convenient; for example, if I click in the categories pane to make it active, it almost always has the effect of making a selection from among the visible categories, which is not what I want. Is there any easy way of fixing the Pharo 3 image so that it will have the effect of scrolling the pane - or the window - which contains the cursor? I have searched the settings browser headings, but I could not find anything that looked relevant. Some years ago, I poked into the innards of Dolphin Smalltalk and tweaked it to produce the effect I want. It was not a major change, so it might be educational for me to try the same trick in Pharo.
