Hilaire I like your suggestion and I checked on lulu The current size is format royal 15.6 * 23.39 (and I think that we should not get smaller) Now on spiral I got black and white: Letter US 21.6 * 27.94 A5 but this is smaller 14.81 * 20.99 cream: 15.24 * 22.86 (I think that it will be too small) So I will give a try to produce a spiral in Letter US and let you know. If you are interested I could give you access to a print version as soon as I get the cover. Stef

You cannot imagine the effort to produce a decent cover. I will check if there is a spiral version on lulu. The problem is that sometimes (I learned it the hard way), changing the color of the paper changes the format :( I have two other books on the back burner and I would like to push them out of the door. [Pillar dev news] cleaned commandline logic

Hi I started a new branch for Pharo 60. Past actions for this branch are: - clean and document the commandline logic and API in 4.0.11 - extract an object from the commandLine logic so that we can now invoke the logic without having to do it from the image. Next actions: - avoid as much as possible to use DNU trick combined with magritte description for CocoonConfigurations may be one idea is to have a configuration without Magritte and a subclass with. Also a configuration does not have to have per se file support Should check in the future the stylesheet of artefact and extract a common property collection with lookup little framework. - fix problem with some classes trashing printOn: (super cool for debugging) and testing. - start to remove the metadata section (far too complex). How to use the serial port on MacOS X?

Hi, I try to use the serial port to communicate with an Arduino. On Linux, no problemo. I can open the serial port with the following code: | serialPort baudRate comPortNumber | baudRate := 31250. comPort := '/dev/ttyACM0'. serialPort := SerialPort new baudRate: 31250; dataBits: 8; stopBitsType: 1; parityType: 0; yourself. "the port is closed to ensure that it will be free" serialPort close. (serialPort openPort: comPort) isNil ifTrue: [ ^self error: 'COM port not available' ] ifFalse: [ serialPort inspect ]. serialPort close. But on MacOS X (10.11.6), the same code used with /dev/cu.usbmodel1411 doesn't run. The error is "Cannot open '/dev/cu.usbmodel1411'". I'm sure that is the correct serial port. If I type "more -f /dev/cu.usbmodel1411" in a terminal, the rx/tx leds of the Arduino are blink. Someone has an idea about this problem that is not specific of the Arduino but concerns the generic usage of the serial port with Pharo?
