Seamless - send collections by value

Hello, I am testing Seamless project (https://github.com/dionisiydk/Seamless) but I did not understand one thing: I have (for example) a Person class in my server and client image. Person class implements: Person>>sseamlessDefaultTransferStrategy ^SeamlessTransferStrategy defaultByValue so all Person instances are serialized from server to client image. Good. But when I have server method, for example, getPersons, that returns a collection (OrderedCollection) of Person instances, this collection is passed by reference (or not?). OrderedCollection inherits transfer strategy from Object, which is "by reference". So in client image, when I iterate this collection, too many (thousands) requests occurs. How to manage only this specific collection (returned from getPersons) to pass by value from server to client (to be completely serialized and copied to the client image), so when I iterate this collection in client image to avoid additional network requests (proxying)? Hmm.. let me try that.. I think it might be wiser at this point to find a more suitable persistence model. i was just looking for something that would work for a week or so until i needed to make this production ready..Â looking at how this project is moving now (itâs done, and ready to start doing real world work).. i think i just need to settle on what is going to be the final production datastore and set that up.. thanks! Okay, got it.. I tried this.. but what happens when i change this to message sends (it does save) is that the state machine no longer works. The reason for this being that when he state machine is initialized, itâs initialized with the result of the message send, I think this needs to be a block so that it is evaluate as the state machine moves through state.. I think i am gonna take a quick look at Magma.. and see if this will suit my needs.. Thanks! Little challenge: Best way to read stream and count line returns

Hello everyone, I often needs to read some streams these days and to get some infos related to the lines returns for example. Because of the CRLF it is a little complicated sometimes. I have an example of code here: | lfShouldBeCounted char count remaining | lfShouldBeCounted := false. remaining := 0. count := 0. stream position: startPos. [ stream position = endPos ] whileFalse: [ "13 is a CR, 10 a LF" (char := stream next asInteger) = 13 ifTrue: [ count := count + 1. remaining := 0. lfShouldBeCounted := false ] ifFalse: [ char = 10 ifTrue: [ lfShouldBeCounted ifTrue: [ count := count + 1. remaining := 0 ] ifFalse: [ lfShouldBeCounted := true ] ] ifFalse: [ remaining := remaining + 1 ] ] ] With this example I know how many lines where passed between the startPos and the endPos in a stream. I also know how many char there is between the last line return and the endPos. I wanted to know if you had a better way to do that? The way need to be as performant than this snippet.
