Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by peter@pbkresearch.co.uk
I donât know how I have been copied into this thread. I have not posted anything on this topic, because I donât understand what itâs all about. It looks as though Stephane Ducasse wrote to thank me for renewing my membership, and somehow my name was repeated in later posts. Please, Esteban, why are you sending me threats? As I said, I have not posted anything in this thread.

lol, "far left".
Far left is to consider that we need a revolution to overthrown the ruling class (the the bourgeoisie) in order to socialize de means of production. Not to consider that every human being has the right to consider themselves as they please and makes them feel more in sync with the world, without being abused by people that believes they have the right to judge others choices.
But go ahead, "leftist"... what else you consider is a perfectly acceptable opinion ? (Is just a rhetorical question, I really do not want to hear your opinions). No wonder why you feel better at twitter than any other option... but hey, we are not forbidding you to go deep in that shithole and express your ''leftist' self there along with all the other leftists that hang along with Elon Musk and other fascists (or alike) like him.

ps: another "perfectly reasonable" opinion like that and you will get a ban from our lists, not just from bluesky. But don't worry, you will be able to go and protest to twitter.

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon

I generally skew left on social programs, but have conservative opinions on
monetary policy, for instance.
However, I am deeply concerned how the far left shuts down any political
debate that even slightly disagree with their viewpoint and ban people for
stating otherwise. Calling someone "nazi" and 'fascist" or saying "trans
women are not real women" is an example of this.

Pharo people should go on whatever social media Pharo people want to go
on. I shall not follow because social media seem to bring out the worst in
people whatever the topic or platform. I am thrilled to the very socks
with this mailing list and deeply grateful to the Pharo developers for the
time and effort they put into Pharo and here. I only fear that antisocial
media will dilute that effort, because Ducasse et al may be superhuman,
their time is still linited.

The pharo community is going the way of the python community. Where

Please respect the choice of the board.
If you do not like it, just drop of the list.

Yes, call anyone that disagrees with your political viewpoints
"nazis". Actual nazis ripped people from their homes and murdered millions.
Stop being so dramatic. No one is going to take you seriously until you
come and join the rest of us in reality.

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon

This is how nazi work: they infiltrate communities and their only
contribution is to jump into discussions to fight anything related to
people wanting to be safe from their bullshit.
He did the same thing (with others) a few years ago for the code
convenant stuff.
He is doing this right now again.
The vocabulary is all there: "echo-chamber", "wrong political opinion",
"tolerant", "leftist"... just all the nazi words they try to impose in
community discussions.
Once we accept, we lose.
Nice and diplomatic discussions do not work with nazis.
So why are we tolerating this? He is not even contributing to Pharo.
Between this and the guy who harasses my students at ESUG, I wonder what
fucking bullshit community we have become.
I have nothing to do anymore in this community.
Steven.

Oh come on, BlueSky is TruthSocial for leftists. Twitter is FAR more
tolerant of differing viewpoints, andI am a leftist myself.
