Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by Steve Quezadas
Does anyone physically know this Steven Costiou person?
Honest question, is he mentally ill? Reason I am asking is that he knows
nothing about me, but immediately brands me as "nazi" based off of two
things I said:
- I like Elon Musk
- I don't like BlueSky
He seems serious about it too. My guess is that he's "terminally online"
and has formed a very warped perception of reality due to too much exposure
to social media echo chambers (aka "brain rot"). But maybe i'm wrong and
there's something I'm missing here.

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by Steve Quezadas
Do you honestly think I'm a "nazi"? And Elon Musk too? If so, you have lost
touch with reality! I blame social media, it causes brain rot. BlueSky
makes it worse because it only shows one side of the debate while twitter
shows multiple perspectives.

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by Steven Costiou
Go fuck yourself with Hitler!
It's going to be political because we want it, and because we want NAZIS
OUT!
I mean, try to be clever for once:Â everybody knows the play of "it's
purely technical", "we must be neutral and accept all political views",
"everybody is welcome", all that to actually shutdown any discussion
(and so the leftists are the one cancelling your opinions...good joke...).
No it's not purely technical, no we're not neutral, NO EVERYBODY IS NOT

All Pharo users should be here. Political views, including yours, have
no place here.
Keep the discussion 100% Pharo. This a purely technical group. We should
have no interest in each others political views. Even Hitler himself
could participate.

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by Steven Costiou
YES to all of that!
I'm also convinced that bluesky will become similar to twitter, sooner
or later.
We also started Mastodon accounts for Pharo and ESUG, and perhaps
ultimately we'll succeed in moving an important part of the community there.
But bluesky or twitter before were never mandatory to be up to date with
Pharo, so it's not an incentive to join Bluesky.

Can we ban him already?
Is this not proof enough that he's on the nazi side??
Are we "tolerating nazis"???

There is no evidence that elon Musk is a "nazi" and i am baffled that
seemingly everyone on this list thinks he is. There is ZERO evidence. Also,
I am a big fan of his. I admire him greatly. And I am no adolf hitler fan
either.

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by Harald
Hello pharoers, here are my 2 cents:
Billionaires should not exist.
Elon musk is a nazi & billionaire, 2 good reasons to avoid giving him any
money, so fuck twitter/x.
I don't know much about bluesky but that it's funded by private investors
so it will likely become another twitter one day, because the capital
always support the fascists.
Cheers

Re: Pharo on Bluesky and Mastodon
by Richard Sargent
Perhaps we can return to the original assertion:
" Bluesky is an echo chamber that will ban you for having the wrong
political opinion. Twitter is much more open to differing viewpoints. "
That has nothing to do with Pharo, so I for one would rather not see
non-Pharo discussions on Pharo lists/channels/fora/whatever.
Perhaps, you could take your political discussions, your gender
discussions, your sexuality discussions, etc. to some other, more relevant
forum.
