I've been trying to help but I can make it work, so sorry... In inria we are working with an student on the bindings of PortMIDI in Pharo, and having some exchanges with an italian Dj that uses pharo for live-performances (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBK0UpalBfk) We are trying to recover, in the long term the things in https://github.com/pharo-contributions/Sound, since there are awesome! Hi Serge, Thanks for the links. Yes, some love is needed! I have an interface that I built years ago in VisualWorks that worked with the PortMidi and RtMidi libraries. Not being a C programmer this was a major challenge. Looks like I might have to do it again! Hi Steward, there is a PharoSound package (with code coming from Squeak): https://github.com/pharo-contributions/Sound with MIDI stuff inside. UK Smalltalk User Group Meeting - Wednesday, May 25th

For our May meeting, Object Guild's Jonathan van Alteren and Erik Stel will give us a preview of Expressive Systems. Expressive Systems is a framework inspired by Richard Pawson's work on Naked Objects ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_objects ). It allows Object Guild to rapidly develop flexible applications by focusing on the design of behaviorally complete objects in the business domain. By using a novel web application architecture based on CodeParadise ( https://github.com/ErikOnBike/CodeParadise ), it allows direct manipulation of business objects by the user. The goal of the framework is to better support problem solving activities and to empower users by giving them a first-person experience. The framework is currently in a (private) alpha phase of development. There are plans to open source the framework in the future. Jonathan has been developing business applications for various Dutch companies since 2001, in roles varying from programmer to solution architect. In 2018, he got hooked on Pharo/Smalltalk and never looked back. Erik has developed both technical as well as business applications in a variety of areas using a broad range of technologies. I am learning Pharo and like to have printed copies of books. I see that âPharo 9 by Exampleâ has been released and it shows âGet printed (soon)" When will that be available on lulu to purchase? Also there is another book titled âPharo with Styleâ and there are two links to buy a printed version, but both sites are in French. Will this book be available for purchase on lulu at some point? Thanks!
