TestRunner to run superclass's tests

Hi all, I have a testing class that is sub-subclass of TestCase, i.e., the class hierarchy looks like this: TestCase ExistingTestingClass MyNewTestingClass How do I get TestRunner to run MyNewTestingClass's tests, as well as ExistingTestingClass's tests in the context of MyNewTestingClass? Pierce

Hi, You need to use - whenActivatedDo: or - whenSelectionChangedDo: Both are conceptually different but depending on your selection of activateOnSingleClick or activateOnDoubleClick you can control what to do. (Which reminds me we still need a forced double click action inclusive when activated in single click: sometimes you have one action on single click and a different one on double click). Does anyone know Spec?

I created a simple listbox. It looks like this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/steverstuff/items.png If I hit a specific selection, say "Item B", how can I make smalltalk run an arbitrary piece of code? (ie: "Transcript show: 'got here'"). Method "whenSelectedItemChanged" should, in theory, do this. It is mentioned in the [[ https://benjamin.vanryseghem.com/projects/spec/docs/example/#protocolList][…]] tutorial, but for some reason it's not executing. Did a new verion of spec change things since the documentation was written? There doesn't seem to be a spec community where I can ask the question.

Hi, We have had some experience with this kind of question, although we are using Pharo to develop, but GemStone in production. We provide our systems on a SaaS model to all our customers. We have set up Escrow agreements with some of our clients, which involves a third party company. At the very first level, this company acts as a "safekeeper" and verifier of the escrow event. This means that the escrow agent can start up your application and keep it running, until your customer have found a solution. Should the customer need more than thant, the escrow agent can provide the ability to maintain the application, until the customer have a solution. This solution could be that the customer acquires the IP (intellectual property) and proceeds to develop in-house or finds an alternative provider of the service. Setting up an agreement like this or at least giving your potential customer the comfort that there is option of an escrow agreement, does a lot for risk aversity, in our experience. The better option is to find an escrow agent that can work on your application, but at the very basic level it requires that the agent can at least "run" the application (eg ensure that it is up, ensure backups are made, etc). "to load the project in the image" In Rowan, packages are not independently loadable. A component is the loadable entity and it may be composed of one or more conditional packages. A component has dependencies upon other components ... One other thing about Rowan is that there is no such thing as load order ... the components/packages are loaded atomically, so dependencies may be circular. The #export method above, writes the package and component structure to disk, and the component would look like the following: RwComponentLoadConfiguration{ #name : 'Acronym', #version : '0.1.0', #conditionalPackages : { [ 'gemstone' ] : { 'core' : { #packageNames : [ 'Exercise-Acronym' ] }, 'test' : { #packageNames : [ 'Exercise-Acronym-Test' ] } } }, #componentNames : [ 'ExercismTools' ] } At the end of the day, you'd have 100 components (one for each exercise). A "well formed" component should have tests. For something to be independently loadable, it is absolutely necessary that the independent aspect be validated by tests ... so I added a Test class and package for Acronym:) ... ExecercismTools is a separate components with all of the necessary packages and "prereqs" defined... Hopefully, I've given you a flavor of how I think your problem would be addressed with Rowan ... The thing that I like is that everything is a definition with an api for creating/maintaining the definitions and all of the definitions exist independent of the loaded image ... the definitions can be read/written from disk without going through a load processÂ ... Let me know what you think ... as these components are still fluid at the moment, feedback will have a real impact on the end product.
