PharoLauncher image preferences (background, etc.)

Is there a way to disable the automatic loading of background pic and other preferences? I want new blank images to be that, blank, and customize each to provide a visual feedback that help me differentiate them at a quick look. #pathString: sent to nil when loading with Metacello

Hi - Iâm trying to pick up the Exercism project again - and when trying to come up with instructions for students to load a clean image from the command line (to fit in with their expectations from other tracks and show that Pharo is also capable of great command line foo) I get the error: #pathString: was sent to nil - when I do: ./pharo-ui Pharo.image eval " Metacello new baseline: 'Exercism'; repository: 'github://exercism/pharo:master/dev/src'; load." Ben Coman mentioned to me that this has something to do with the "pharo-project/pharo" repository being pre-defined in Pharo 7? What does this mean? The repo //exercism/pharo was given to us by the Exercism team to match repoâs of other languages like //exercism/ruby etc. So is this really what the problem is - we canât have a repo that includes the name pharo - or have I misunderstood this? Is there a workaround I can put in the do-it to bypass this somehow? Iâm hoping we might have a good answer, as it was going so well in Pharo 6. Tim

Pharo Launcher stores its vms under $HOME/Documents/Pharo/vms If you want to run the same VM as PharoLaucher, you just need to know the Pharo version of the image (e.g. 70) and the architecture (e.g. 64 bits). Then you can run you image with $HOME/Documents/Pharo/vms/70-x64/Pharo.app/Contents/MacOS/Pharo Pharo.image ../scripts/setup-client-application.st <http://setup-client-application.st/> (the end of the path on windows or linux to the executable will change a bit) Hope this helps, Christophe

Yeah, Iâm running DrGeo from Applications. Trying open gives you the same result. Yes, Mojave security is a PITA. But other apps downloaded from the web donât have this problem. But I donât develop on the Mac because of Appleâs paranoid behavior. Still get same error message with the new download, can't tell if anything changed in the download. Seems like the method it ends up using, Date>>printDate:format:on:, currently ignores the formatArray given and just prints using YYYY-MM-DD. But there's a ExrendedDatePrinter class that implements the same method and does what you expect. I found it using ctrl-m when selecting the expression and looking at the implementations, but I haven't used it to be sure. RBPattern syntax

Hi, I am looking into the RB pattern language for refactoring and I am having trouble matching and replacing non-trivial pattern. Given the following excerpt, I want to match "b shape <rest>." and replace it with "b shape: [ :x | x <rest> ]" b shape circle size: 15; color: (Color veryLightGray alpha: 0.4); if: [ :value | toBeRed includes: value ] fillColor: Color red. How can I do this? I tried using "b shape ``@messages", but this only matches "b shape circle". Using "b shape `message `;middle; `;last" for some reason then also matches the following, which I think it should not: b edges moveBehind; connectToAll: [ :v | v \\ 20 ~~ 0 ifTrue: [ Array with: v + 1 with: v + 20 ] ifFalse: [ Array with: v + 20 ] ]. There seems not be too much documentation about the pattern language, only found tests, some short help description from RB and Yuriy's MatchTool. How can I match the node correctly? Cheers, Manuel

So beside the signing problem, I have a problem with the OS X vm. The error is the same I got from the Linux VM referenced in the Pharo download page... I think someone should double check these VMs are ok or not. I will check again the mac os vm in these drgeo bundle.
